If this card has to be buffed, it has to be a very small buff. My opinion.

This card definitly needs a buff. Me and JMDT were testing out a few decks with this card, and had 0 luck making an effective deck. Even using novas and throwing in CC of your own, its a pain in the butt. I would say either a cost decrease, or increasing its poison damage by 1 would be the way to go.

The life scorpion just outdoes it with adrenaline. All you would need is a  mark to fuel the unstoppables in case the opponent has shields. And you have plenty of healing to keep you alive in a deck built around it. Even if you dont get an unstoppable, you can play this card immidiaatly and do damage.

Deathstalker, on the other hand. Eclipse may sound good, but almost all upped shields block the 2 damage it would give, making your scorpion worthless again. This forces an unstoppable on it. Then you are at the 2 poison damage you get from the life scorpion and adrenaline.  If you want to beat that, you have to splash a third element, life. By the time you pull all of that off, a three card combo, with 3 different elements, you could have easily done a 3 card combo with only 2 elements for the life scorpion.

In an unupped environment, this card is even worse. Its harder to power it with momentum off of mark alone, and using nightfall, EVEN FAIL SHIELDSOLAR SHIELD can stop it.

Forest scorpion doesnt require three elements to make it effective. And this is  Its suppose to be better than at poison

The poison sticks and does 1 per turn regardless of whether deathstalker is hitting (it still does it's original 2 if it hits).

Do you mean like a deadly venom effect where even if the scorpion dies, the poison gets worse each turn, increasing poison counters by 1 at the end of your turn?  i like that idea. Say only 1 deathstalker hits, then its destroyed. Starts off doing 2 damage. End of your opponents turn it has 3 poison. End your turn, end your opponents turn and there is 4 poison. that seems like a good idea to me. I think that if your scorpion is alive though, he should do 2 damage, and the extra 1 is done at the end of your opponents turn (that extra 1 wouldnt stack)

Or make the scorpion have a death effect where if it dies, it causes x amount of poison damage.

I quickly tried a momentum/deathstalker deck and I also think it deserves a buff.

I really like the idea of stacking poison (maybe 3 counters) when it dies. It could increases the off-element possibilites.


Another idea I got is that the poison stacking could be : 1+the damage done.
Keeping it 0 atck unupped and upped, still forcing splash element.

I'd vote for it to apply 3 poison per hit, and leave it to require combo to hit.

I also thought it could attack even when it has 0 attacks. This way it would make no direct damage but apply poison. However, in that case, shield effects should apply. It makes sense as when a scorpion hits, it hurts only from the poison and not from the attack ...

We have a variety of ideas now.  I'll have to add a poll when I figure it out.

A)  Deathstalker only requires TWO elements to make it effective.  Even then, a splash for nightfall isn't freaking impossible to do.  Especially with the new pendulums.
B)  Just because Death is "supposed" to be better at poison doesn't mean life's card deserves to be weaker compared to it.  Maybe give it a buff in some other way.  Like make it have 1 HP but give poison four times when hit with adrenaline.  I don't know.  But it's not fair for you to flat out ignore an underpowered card because it's "supposed" to be weaker.

I've played with some very succesful mono decks with epi, scorpion, frog and heal.  Fast, efficient, and a good EM rate.  I've yet to get any such deck to work with deathstalker.  Even though it stacks more poison, it is much slower to play.

In practice forest scorpion seems to be the strongest of the new scorpion, precisely because it actually has attack and has synergy with andenaline.
