A card massively in need of improvement is the crimson dragon which, when upgraded is even worse than it's normal version' increasing in price by 2, attack by 3, and DOWN in health by 1! waste of money, waste of quanta, and is incredibly weak! it put a right hole in my original mono :fire tactic. for improvements please at least decrease the upgraded dragon quanta price by 1.

I will agree with you the upgraded version is not a clear cut improvement. But then, let us not compare the toadfish/pufferfish! Price is the same, both have an ability, though different, but the pufferfish has 3 less attack and one more defence.

This is one of the ''trade off upgrades.'' If you don't like it, use it unupgraded. It's a bit funny, but that's how some of the upgrades are.
Shards aren't overpowered, as long as you have them yourself.

No matter what happens, you have a dragon doing 12(15 upped) for a turn, thats not easy to come back from.
And if you want to complain about dragons, complain about massive dragon.

yeah massive dragons do kinda suck. all they're good for is catapult but they cost too much to be worth it and can easily be stopped by the gravity shield. on the subject of gravity, they need to make a waaaay better shield for it.

Please stay on-topic...

When I saw this thread I went like... WOOT?! Crismon/Ruby dragon is one of the greatest dragons out there, plus the fact that fire has cremation, so you can play them pretty fast. And not every deck has hp depending CC (i.e. rewind is non hp depending CC), so having low hp isn't that of a big deal.

It's not a waste of anything, since you'll have lots of damage out, and the upped is nearly the same, since most CC make 1 or 3 or more damage (thunderstorm, RoF, Fire Bolt, Ice bolt when more than 10 :water, shockwave, Eagle's Eye)

Try it in any fire deck and you'll see that it works like a charm... You'll see it specially if you fight AGAINST it.

Killybob, you are going to need to add a poll here, and include all of your options for buffing the card, and the other 'needs no buff' option. Take a look at the sticky here (the one by ScaredGirl) and that should explain everything.

If you are having trouble with the poll, present your options here and I'm sure the community will be able to guide you through it - or I could use some of my magical powers to make a poll appear. (Magical powers mentioned here may not exist - I have never tried them but I don't see why they shouldn't)

Thanks killybob!

The crimson dragon is strong against decks lacking in creature control and weak against decks with large amounts of CC. In the current metagame, there are good decks lacking in CC (Shrieker Rush, Life Rush, Mummy Rush, etc). Thus the crimson dragon has uses.

The ruby dragon is not weaker than the crimson dragon. 3 more damage at the cost of 2 quantum is a good improvement. The loss of 1 hp makes little difference. Almost nothing that can kill something with 2 hp is unable to kill something with 3 hp.
Somehow still around, somewhat

It completely owns when paired with Parallel/Twin Universe. As pointed out, The -1 in health makes pretty much no difference other than it can then be killed by a non-upgraded oty. Also as mentioned, 12/15 damage can make the difference in a game, even if only for one turn.

Have you ever seen a Ruby/quint fire deck? shhhh I used to use one and it was insane..15 attack is a ton, and the only thing to stop it would be a fire shield which would take 2 turns to kill the Ruby, or.. uh I forget, so whatever is left that can beat it :D

Dimension/Phase Shields stop all attacks, but only for 3 turns.
