I'm only commenting because I really loved these old rules much better then all the rules that got changed recently.
I just noticed the rules for stage 2 got changed also? Apparently the person with the best match record after a couple of rounds advances through to the final stage? This was never the case in Essence's original rules. The way only a real champion could advance in Budokan and others were able to get alot of chances to avenge their previous losses had a big appeal to me. The way it works now is you play a few rounds of best of 5 matches and check the win %. This is just plain boring and I don't think it was ever intended that way by Essence.
I'm not blaming Blonde or anyone else for that matter. I'm just stating I liked these old rules much better and would be very disappointed (again) if I had made it to Stage 2 at this point.
I'm not sure i'm understanding what you are saying here. The Stage 2 rules didn't get changed at all. All i did was make an additional rule just in case Stage 2 was going to long (say over 5 rounds) and once again needed to shorten a stage. Also how long Stage 2 was going to last was up in the air. I made the % rule for 2 reasons.
1) People were not caring whether they won or lost or by what margin. Once players went 1-1 they didn't care anymore. This way i gave a little motivation to try to win as many games as possible just in case of a tiebreaker was needed.
2) This event has already run too long. I needed to let people know that there was a possibility of it ending before all 4 players were slain and by adding this rule everyone knew what the tiebreaker would be.
I'm sorry you were disappointed with the rules Jappert but this event has already almost run 2 months (almost as long as war already and if Morm didn't slay Napalm this event could have lasted longer then war).
