Um.. is it just me, or are the rules completely different from what they used to be? Current rules look a lot like what the "Defenders of the Universe" event is supposed to be. The latter is canceled then, yes?

The Budokan rules as I see them in Essence's first post are as I know them.

Dunno if it was different before and got changed afterwards.

Yea, it was totally different at first in the private section. Doesn't matter though, I was just wondering.

ok so from acatually playing the event i see one fatal and unfair flaw is thata team can actaully win in the first round i dont think this is fair or right for a pvp event its ridiclous specially with the rules being that 1/3 of the people in that event dont get to play at all for the first round Ya im talking about us aides.
the best and easist solution that i cna think of is having the team that has 6 champions hold that number or more for one round after they gain it meaning if say team 2 gets all 6 champs they need they cant win offically till round 3 because they then have to defend there honor/pride/whatever u wanna call it for one whole round to actaully prove there worth. im saying this because i would like to enjoy this pvp event but with a team able to win so early on in the competition it makes this event kinda not so much fun i thought it be a epic team battle but its turning into a RNG unfavorable opponents slaughter >.< im sorry for the bitching but this is really ridiclous and i would at least like to be able to play ONE game before i lose in a event

Current rules basically state a team needs a simple majority of Masters (7 of 12) to win.  It might be a better idea to bump that up to 2/3 (8 of 12) or even 3/4 (9 of 12).  The other option is to institute a mandatory minimum numbers of rounds for Stage I, maybe 3 rounds since there are 3 teams.  That should have enough time for teams to play at least 1 battle and a potential rematch.  At the very minimum 2 rounds is necessary just to ensure that every player is allowed to at least have a battle.  I agree that it would be pretty bad to declare a team the winner of Stage I before 1/3 of the events participants even get a chance to play.
Carpe Diem!!

There is to say, though, that majority of Champions is a requirement that COULD be tough to get to as it is, if teams were balanced. We have fairly unbalanced teams this time... maybe team randomization would be a better solution. If not, Round 1 could go as long as 10 turns... even more, as Champions get periodically dethroned.

Alternatively, you could say you need to have a certain number of Champions last for a certain number of turns. Not consecutive turns, just turns. The first team to get, say, 7 people that are Champions for 3 turns win the phase. Still potentially unlimited, but not nearly as much.

Or maybe just make it that in a Master can defend his/her players in consecutive rounds then that element in closed and the Master is permanent.  Then the team who "wins" the most elements moves on.  Although that idea might be considered too much of an event-changing concept.

I like most.  Of these ideas and there seems to be simple solutions I like the idea of randomizing teams after three people have been signed up for this would ensure that teamates are a better mix of pro and knewer players. The other would be to do what TStar siad and make it minimium amount of rounds before u can win the event or make it what I s. Saidand make them hold onto the champion status for a certain amount of rounds.

It's been a great tourney so far. 2 questions just to be sure while deckbuilding for round 3:

1. The champion is allowed to use up to 6 card for every aide in their team as well, right?
2. The champion may use 6 upgraded cards, but it does not matter if they are from their element or from one of the aide elements, right?

Thanks

champion can only use 6 upped cards, and it doesn't matter from what element, champion uses aides only for other elements cards.

I'm only commenting because I really loved these old rules much better then all the rules that got changed recently.

I just noticed the rules for stage 2 got changed also? Apparently the person with the best match record after a couple of rounds advances through to the final stage? This was never the case in Essence's original rules. The way only a real champion could advance in Budokan and others were able to get alot of chances to avenge their previous losses had a big appeal to me. The way it works now is you play a few rounds of best of 5 matches and check the win %. This is just plain boring and I don't think it was ever intended that way by Essence.

I'm not blaming Blonde or anyone else for that matter. I'm just stating I liked these old rules much better and would be very disappointed (again) if I had made it to Stage 2 at this point.
