The first two events both had upgraded cards in Stage 2, which is why majofa replied with what he did.

Permanent champions automatically move on to the 2nd round, so all 12 would advance.

The minimum number of champions it takes for a TEAM to advance is 7... no 2 teams could have 7 champions at the same time, so there can never be a tie.

The rounds will continue until one of the two happen:

1.) A team has 7 or more champions at the end of the round. (Permanent champions from other teams will replace the eliminated players on the winning team)

2.) There are 12 permanent champions. In this case, they all advance.

1) No. The rules don't say you can.

2) If they post or PM me that they're leaving. If they haven't logged onto the forums for an extended amount of time.

I think the rules as regarding aides need to be revised. Last time, having permanent champ as permanent aide for a team seemed overpowered. Now, it seems like if we took that out, RNG rules which is so much luck dependent. Just a suggestion on rules part. No hard feelings. Trying to make pvp events merrier and better

In Budokan #2, each player was allowed 10 ups during Stage 2.  Ditto for Budokan #1.

Could you describe the Proving of Self a little more clearly in the rules? The Phase 2 rules are very vague, and there's no mention of the rule changes for the elimination tournament.
