Brawl #6 is getting closer!
Here we're going to write down some of the currently planned changes in Brawl, that will be in place for Brawl #6. Note that these changes are not yet finalized, and you are more than welcome to question the changes and make other suggestions.
1. Reworked Voting System
No longer will teams be able to vote. Instead only non-participants will be allowed to vote. To ensure that some minimum of votes are gotten, there will be a "Voting Panel" which non-participants can sign up to. People not on the voting panel can still vote of course, the only difference is that the voting panel basically *have to* vote each round.
2. Dynamic Roles
Instead of each player having a specific role during the whole event, it will be up to the Boss to delegate each task to one (or more) members during a round. The tasks themselves will still be themed like the roles of the previous Brawls. Of course, the Boss could if he wanted still give all of one type of task to the same person, emulating the previous system. We believe this won't really be that big of a change, since already in previous brawls there have been occasions where a task is done by someone from another role. In applications you should still (but it's not stricly neccessary) list all the tasks you will be comfortable with doing.
3. Combo Tasks
This would replace the duo/trio/more-tasks that existed in previoud Brawls (i.e. a task where several roles work together). They are essentially the same, except that now each individual role-part would be voted for individually.
4. Removal of Wagers
Wagers have been mostly underused in previous brawls, and while the point of these is to make it easier for teams to make comebacks, or to beat the lead team, we feel like this is mostly already handled by the way later rounds give much more points than earlier rounds. Since in theory the best team wins a wager, it's also a bit like a "win-more" thing, which is pretty bad. Therefore we have decided to remove Wagers from the rules. Challenges however will stay, since they provide something more unique to the table, and the challenger has much more freedom in how to gain extra points compared to wagers.
5. Removal of Event Cards
They haven't been used a lot, and we don't feel they add too much to Brawl. They don't seem to be worth the effort to design.
6. Removing a Round
This brawl is planned to be only 5 rounds instead of 6. This is due to the usual losing of interest near the end of Brawl, so we feel that this will make players more likely to stay motivated throughout the whole event.
List might be updated as more changes are decided upon.
Don't hesitate to leave comments on the planned changes. We're making the event for you, so if you guys think the changes looks weird or bad, just tell us. Of course, if there is anything we should clarify, tell us that too!
