Forum Brawl #5 - Round 6 - Voting Phase

Hi, FHM representative here. I'd be fine with forfeiting the 8 points on each challenge submission that ceases to exist, and potentially having AB win the challenges that we didn't submit on. Allowing us to submit late should not be acceptable.

Okay.

The rules state that "If the challengee does not make a submission, they will have been considered as declining." This would lose them 5 points.

However. The challengee did indeed submit submissions, and there's no clause in the rules that allow the challenger to decline their own challenge. JCJ's analogies are a little odd but they make the point.

As such, I'm going to roll with MMC here and give AB an automatic win on those challenges. AB gains 8 points, FHM loses 8. The remaining challenges will be voted on normally. Do provide any disagreements or comments here!

Ok, it has been brought to my attention that we have not used the source material for the entry we submitted for the Artist/DB task. The unedited image, as well as it's creator can be found here. It should be noted here that the creator is not anyone on these forums, nor in Brawl.
We would greatly appreciate it if this were to be taken into account in any votes made.

Boss & CD Abyss Brawlers: All cards are interesting individually and work well as a deck, with an alternative win condition. League of Shadows: Really interesting deck synergy win condition, clearly and concisely explained, with decent enough flavour to the cards Artist & DB Abyss Brawlers: We were asked to represent the battle in any medium we liked. We chose the medium of a movie / movie trailer. I love this submission, and encourage voters to watch our video. Art does not have to be a picture. Chaosomes: Their mistake is just about made up for by the wonderful art. FE Abyss Brawlers: It said a guide, doesn't mean the person guiding has to be very good at being a guide League of Shadows: The only one that could actually serve as a post in the 'Tutorial' section of the forum. Amazing work. Writer Abyss Brawlers: I liked the mystery and development of a feeling of plot. Doing the voiceover was fun too Toadally Newtral Team: It's a prologue, Chaos and LoS were both way too long, gaia too short. this was just the right length, and I liked the nod to the star wars element of this brawl Bonus Abyss Brawlers: We all live in a blue submarine! Chaosomes: I frikkin loved this song lol Super Bonus Abyss Brawlers: Krzy supa mega comic skillllzzzzz. Also, I like being drunk any time, especially in a comic Chaosomes: consistantly funny. i like comics such as these that it's all about the script Challenge Abyss Brawlers not sure what goes here, but if there was a challenge, we probably did it

Espithel's Frustration	AB: all completely realistic qualities. Not sure how their blade being see-through can be realistic
Espithel's Delirium	AB: really liked the effect of becoming one creature by choice and another on death
Espithel's Duplicity	AB: their submission diddn't include a deck
Ulamog, the Ceaseless NearHundred	AB: similar submissions, just preferred the flavour to ours, and giving gravity a late-game win condition is cool
Animated Tribute	AB: WE ALL LIVE IN A BLUE SUBMARINE!
Mechanical Underdrive	AB: loved this idea from Fippe, if you are going to take on a new mechanic, you need something to take that mechanic to the next level!
Ascension	TC: Better, simpler deck with more theme
Buy one get one free!	LoS: Brill. Could actually be a real ad

I agree with JcJ; making votes as public as possible is a good idea.

That said, for the Writer task, JcJ, our opening crawl is shorter than yours by almost a third, and yet you say it's too long? :p

Daww, thanks Krzysie! I was using the word 'you' as in you-singular-JcJ, not you-plural-AB. The complaint is that the reason he gives for not voting for LoS is a double standard! I am cheerfully protesting said double standard, and requesting that he replace or update his reasoning with a more valid one(Can't say ours is too long when it's shorter than yours!) And of course, yall can see that I am still voting for plenty of your submissions ^^
