Too many roles again.
Only 2 or 3 of the team are working hard, other members are doing nothing because of inactivity.
From my last brawl experience.

We will not be cutting roles due to "lazy team members". That is not sufficient reasoning. In fact, it is incredibly unlikely that any role will ever be dropped lest Brawl turn into a generic Card and Deck competition.

Given that the BMs have already planned out lots of exciting tasks for all roles, I can certainly understand why they'd hate to eliminate one.

Forum Brawl states that some roles may be cut if, and only if, we don't have enough people sign up. There is no reason for such a workbase to be unbalanced unless people are quitting the event midway or being lazy. We have no control over that but we're not going to deny anyone a position they want or a role they'd enjoy because a few members are lazy or quitters. That is in part the bosses responsibility to try and buy better members and each person who sign's up duty to actually commit to the event.

I think the appearance of strategic voting hurt the previous Brawl, whether or not it actually was used.  For those tasks which are not dependent on team name, can we have the voting done anonymously? (i.e. "submission 1", "submission 2" instead of "Team Divine Light", "Whispers in the Dark").

The consensus we've gotten from previous Brawls is that anonymous voting 1) Doesn't actually remain anonymous 2) Hurts the fun of the event, and 3)Harms discussion, which is something we're mandating this Brawl.

We will continue using the voting system of the previous Brawl while also enforcing discussion so that players must give ample, realistic reasoning for their choices. There is /no/ perfect voting system, but this one should create the least bias.

While the decision is certainly yours, I'm curious how anonymous voting hurts discussion.  Can't one just as easily say "submission 1 has a distinct flavor of originality beneath its surface of looking like a less-OP Psion." as say "Team Divine Light's submission has a distinct flavor of originality beneath its surface of looking like a less-OP Psion"?

Not trying to just be argumentative, actually just curious about that particular point.

There were issues with submissions losing anonimity in Brawl #1, people complained a lot about that. That's why Nae and I decided to remove anonimity since Brawl #2

Well, you could always ask a team member "which submission is your's? I want to vote on it."

Well, you could always ask a team member "which submission is your's? I want to vote on it."

The goal is to not allow Team 1 to deliberately prefer Team 2 to Team 3.  I assumed teams would still know their own submissions.

EDIT: But I understand that what we have is (as far as we can tell) better than trying to implement my suggestion, so don't take this post as pushing for it, rather clarifying a misunderstanding of the original intent.

Really, to anyone complaining. The system in Brawl 3 was the best one so far. The one in Brawl 2 was horrible mostly because of public wagers and the one from Brawl 1 (anonimous submissions) didn't work as intended.
