Challenge:
Both did a good job on the Life side of the fight but left the Frost side lackluster. I think Meaning of Life did Frost more justice so they get the vote. Although if I were in another mood I would have awarded this to Frost for portraying their opponent better than Meaning of Life did.
Boss/FE
I did not appreciate Frostbite's parody submission despite the good humor.
Ragnarok's meme really only makes sense to people already in the know (aka not its target audience).
The other 3 submissions all made a good effort (even if Gravy missed what made Minecraft viral). I do think Red Stars and Meaning of Life had more useful content than Gravy Train Co. but all 3 gave good advice after a serious analysis.
Artist/Writer
[Disclaimer: Once again, I have literally no aesthetic taste]
All the writing was good quality and the art was great.
Red Star's submission blew me away even after opening 5x the spoilers. I think Frostbite was next best.
Card Design:
Empowerment
The "synergy" with Liquid Shadow does not appear meaningful compared to LS's alternatives like Plate Armor. The other 2 synergies were 1 per effect which makes this an inelegant entry for this task.
Heaven
The "synergy" with Poison and either 0hp or Gravity shield is a trio and seems underpowered for that usage (maybe a Rainbow stall). The other 2 synergies work well off the same effect. Still, not a passing grade.
Necromancer's Cove
You used 1 effect so this is rather elegant. The question is whether it would increase the usage of the underused cards. Honestly the Cat fills a similar role so I doubt this would have the desired effect since it is more efficient but a smaller impact than the Cat and multipliers are measured more by impact than by efficiency.
(PS: The upped casting cost being
instead of
does almost nothing since you still need
to use the card)
Siphoner
This does have a lot of synergies (being infrastructure for combos) but I am not sure you identified them correctly. This would have synergy with the Phase Salvager but I think it would be mostly used with combos like Vampire & Black Dragon(which are not UU last I checked).
Endurance Totem
Huh. No explanation as if it were obvious. Interesting gambit to play. Well it is 1 ability to create the synergies so it is elegant at the least. It would be synergizing with Gravity Shield, Plate Armor, and Gravity/Earth Vanilla creatures(30|30 Massive Dragon for 11). I think it checks out but you really need to double check the balance when the beneficiaries range from a 5|5 for 3
to a 30|30 for 11
DB:
Meaning of Life, Ragnarok, and Red Stars created simple decks that captured the essence of why that film was a horror film. The Cabin in the woods could not make a simple deck and Gravy Train Co. missed why Twilight is horrifying. To narrow it down I rolled a d3.
OT:
I found Meaning of Life and Ragnarok's to be the most like what I was expecting.
