Dear Divine Light team members (and awesome BMs),

In my opinion the possibility for brawlers to vote is nonsense. Therefore, I will not vote anymore for anyone.
EDIT: I will vote always on my team and for another team. I will treat the vote on my team as a bonus for voting and a potential punishment for non-voting. I consider this as having one vote actually. Probably most of brawlers don't have any scruples and vote always for their team, so shell I.

Why I don't like current voting system.

Reason 1: It's a simple logic. I feel bad when I help other teams and not my own team. I'm afraid most of votes come from brawlers, if you don't take your chance to vote on your team, I think the vote is lost. I know this event is for fun, but it's still a game and, maybe it's just me, but the ultimate purpose of a game, where we have winners and losers, is to win. I take part in this event in order to have fun, but also to win, as a boss I'm double responsible for the team, and my task is to help my team to win. Voting for others, I don't help my team. Team members who don't vote on their team do not help their team. It's simple as that.

But voting on yourselves is kind of lame and what if I find works from other teams better than stuff from my team? We go to:

Reason 2: I don't want to choose between someone from my team and other teams. Even if I think, for example, other teams did better that someone from my team, I don't want to state it out loud, in front of his face, especially knowing he did his best. Yes, of course there is diffrent situation if someone is just idling a lot, but generally I would rather not vote at all anyway.

Maybe I have a strong feeling of unity and I was always taught that "a bird doesn't poo into his nest", and in English it is: It's an ill bird that fouls its own nest.

I know that rules can't be changed in this Brawl, I will cope with that, but as a sign I don't approve of it I will not vote. Maybe I will state my opinion on certain works, but I will not vote.

Suggestions for next Brawls: Do not allow brawlers to vote at all or force them to give at least one vote, but only votes on other teams are allowed. If team did not vote, the penalty would be losing 1 point for example for each ungiven individual vote.

Ok so, you have two suggestions:

1. Don't allow Brawlers to vote at all

The forums are currently at a stale state, and only a fraction of the active users are interested in Brawl. Based on the round 1 of this brawl, disallowing Brawlers from voting would lead to 4 or 5 voters every round. If we're picking winners based on a pool of 10 votes, what's the point of voting?

2. Force Brawler to send in one vote

Which is kinda what's happening right now. In a perfectly imperfect world, every Brawler uses one of their two votes on their team. This means that all those votes neutralize themselves, and the actual competition happens among the remaining one vote. But forcing the Brawlers to make this vote is impractical, as someone might be afk and their team can't do anything about it. Why should they merit a penalty, then?

Basically your objection is that it's our obligation to vote on our team, but we might be voting sub-par work. But consider this, if it's sub-par it is most likely to come in last anyways, so your vote won't do much. But voting on the others might increase the diversity there, encouraging proper competition among the true contenders.

This voting system has been implemented so your team loses votes if you don't vote, so vote if you want to win. Apart from the other teams' votes, they can vote for yours if you deserve it!

Thus I have yet another idea. If a brawler votes (forbidden on his team), his team automatically gains one point. Effect is the same and a dilemma whether to vote on my team or not is solved.

Ok, I think I would do more harm than good not voting on my team. Thus, my boycott is over, I updated OP. Yet, that does not mean I like current voting, but well, it can just be me. Anyway, good work BMs after all
