Brawl #3 - Round 3 Voting

DL - Either the moral of this story is "Krzy is God of all and has magical powers" or "Golems are better than phoenixes" or there is no moral. Either way, this makes a great story (it really does) but a bad fable.

Pshht, the fable of the story is totally "Kids are always gonna complain so don't pay any heed to 'em."

Actually, the moral has been written in the story: "Slow and Steady wins the race". Yeah I went all wacky and that might seem out-of-task for many. :-/

I don't have the time to post complete feedback for all (and some of 'em are too complex for me to really decide). So I'll just post feedback for my forte, Writer!

DDD - Neat little poem, and it managed to capture my attention. But the change of pace could've been done better, and the meter seems to be of in the last stanza (though I don't claim to be an expert here). Nice, though it felt a bit lacking.
Ferns - Sadly, there's nothing elements related in the story, so you strayed from the task. But that aside, the story was really good. Really awesome work there. But squirrels feasting on a snake, blergh!
Cuckoos - Chilling. It's a short story at its best, while not losing the characteristics of a fable. Though I feel like the moral could've been reflected a bit better here.
Whispers - That Purple Nymph was portrayed perfectly, and the dialogue at the beginning was good. But the last bit about how the nymph was defeated, meh. I feel it could've been a lot better.

Leading onto the cloak discussion, if you play a deck with Boos and no cloak, you have six 0|2 (or 0|6) creatures with no ability (unless I read the card wrong).

You did read the card wrong. The Boos will attack when under cloak, but when there is no cloak they will still attack UNLESS the matching creature slot on the opposing side is occupied (hence why combining them with fractal can make for such an effective deck). Thus, even without cloak, Boo's can still be useful, especially when you toss some (repeatable) CC into your deck. Which brings us to the reason it's a card, for easier combining with other on death effects

Oooohhhhhh, now I get it. I think the problem is, most people (myself included) read the card text as 2 separate effects:

  "  (Unless under Cloak does not attack) and (is untargetable if opponent's opposite creature slot unoccupied)  "

But it should be read as:

  "  Unless under Cloak ((does not attack and is untargetable) if opponent's opposite creature slot unoccupied)  "

A possibly better wording for the effect would be, Unless cloaked or opposite an empty opponent creature slot, Boo does not attack and is untargetable. Correct me if I'm wrong but that wording conveys the same idea. Its still a complicated effect, but now more understandable.
