Cuckoo Bird

Why  is our card, and the card it spawns death? Well, cuckoos are actually  pretty messed up creatures. Did you know they don't build their own  nest? They hijack the nests of other birds! Cuckoo eggs hatch faster  than most species, and when they do, the poor mama bird  doesn't know the difference, and feeds them as if they were her own!   When the mother's actual eggs hatch, the cuckoo typically just pushes it out of the nest. Not so cute now, are they?

The "full protection" isn't cumulative; if more Keepers of divine light die the same turn, the owner will gain only 1 turn of immunity. This card represents the devotion of Divine Light team members, as true keepers of holy divine light. Any sacrifice that they would make for their team, would not be vain...

Where "group" is defined as "cards touching vertically/horizontally/diagonally with pixel-overlap". The card's theme is "Dominating the Herd" - if opposing creatures are scattered few effects result but with opposing creatures packed together the effects are maximized.  It functions as a good counter to swarms like FFQ, Pharaoh, Fractal+anything, and Mitosis+good creatures. Silver Ferns

The idea is simple: a protective wall of ferns, softening the blows you take, and also letting you use magic to attack back. Mechanically, the idea is pretty simple to grasp. Instead of blocking a flat amount of damage like most shields, Silver Ferns reduces a percentage of damage. The damage reduced always rounds up, 1-5 attack loses 1 damage, 6-10 loses 2, ect. The reduced damage is added to the counter, X. The ability can be used at any time to deal X damage to any target, including your opponent.

Whisper in the darkness element! Reduces current ATK, not full. Creatures revert to full ATK after attacking twice. Immaterial and burrowed creatures are immune. 1, 0 and negative attack creatures aren't affected. Any creatures played while this is in effect still have full ATK. Buffs played while this is in effect still give the effect. Cost is based on Dims. Upped gives the HP increase when the card is played.

As you can see its one hell of a huge Timebow, this seemed like the best way to support any creature from any element while needing only 1 copy of it to make a difference. During testing it had a ~70% win rate, of which ~70% EM! You basically just drop your permanents/creatures, draw like mad and try to wait with mass cc and Sundials until you get a Bone Wall. Eternity + Protect Artifact are there in case the battle drags on long enough that you near deckout.

Air Nymph, Annele: lofty queen of the team.
Vampire, TheonlyrealBeef: undying Darkness creature that sticks to the shadows. Bit of a weird outsider with great abilities.
Cockatrice, ARTHANASIOS: jack-of-all-trades creature that has a bit of everything.
Fate Egg, ShiningHeart: young, inexperienced but full of potential! Who knows what it will hatch into?
Mind Flayer, Apoch the Mad: his madness will eat your mind!
Steel Golem, Terroking: solid and everlasting golem of Earth.
Shrödinger's Cat, sasuk3: dead and alive, we know he's alive and yet he seems dead (inactive). Our member that is both at once!

On a general note, the creatures stated are upgraded/unupgraded depending on which name fits better, while the deck has all but Air Nymph upgraded (cause I don't have upgraded ones :p).

I'm in Team Death Dost Dominate? So here you get your poisoning - Bloodsucker. Forum Expert: the dictator He is a water creature because he likes water. Physalia provides the Poison connection. We are so touched by this poison. Offtopicker: timetock This guy is a fate egg. Why? He likes time and his head looks like an egg. Writer: dawn to dusk This dude is loving Life, so add some poison and he becomes a Scorpion. As our boss, Opsinis will prevent the team (aka. deck) from falling apart. Since protect artifact isn't a creature, I went for the salvager here. The phase salvager just wouldn't fit Opsinis' long lived activity, so the choice was clear: Graviton Salvager

It is clear that Andretimpa is a gravity elemental. Not only is his avatar a nicely made gravity symbol, but he's also a founding member of the gravity guild. His funny nature is able to quickly overcome the protective shield of your heart and forces you to like him. Momentum was probably involved. He is our andrenalined Honey Charger.

For Russianspy it would have been wrong to not go with a time creature. Also, when reading the name, anything not overly powerfull wouldn't fit. His avatar is a with Yu-Gi-Oh hairstyle messed up pharaoh. Yu-Gi-Oh is a Japanese game. The most Japanese creature is a Dragon. So Time Dragon seemed like the only real and best fitting choice here.

PlayerOa is the Pharaoh. This choice could be considered a "nobrainer". Being Master of Time and having a Pharaoh as avatar there wasn't really anything else to pick.

Tom Bombadil is known among his friends that he'll eat pretty much anything. Clearly, he must be an Otyugh

Absol is a darklurker who is currently in a time environment. The most common darkness/time duo is probably NM/GotP, making him the Ghost of the Past.

Last but not least, for myself (Kakerlake) it must be something random. Seeing how the other team members are all gravity or time, Fate Egg seemed like a valid choice, as I am just as lazy and won't lift a finger unless poked enough Time.
XenoSim predicted 45% winchance for this deck (minus Graviton Salvager) vs. AI4.
When testing myself, it was about 70% (31 matches).

The deck has strong creatures, and the power to get them out fast with SN. It also has the power to stall while drawing all the creatures to ramp up damage.
The deck must be played strategically to win. Don't waste your Thunderstorms, but use them in combo with Maxwell's Demon and Fire Shield and you can take out any and all creatures while healing with Sanctuaries. Don't play a weapon while you have another in play unless you absolutely have to, try to either fly it or endow it (or both) before you do. Once you learn to use the cards at the right time, this deck can win most games against those pesky Halfbloods.

Skodati Phobos is a Vampire because he likes poking fun at himself.
SpikeSpiegel is an Anubis because he is old, wise and time addicted.
Asymmetry is a Maxwell's Demon because  everyone know that anything asymmetrical belongs to demons!
CrockettRocket is an Elite Charger because he is fast with his actions like an Elite Charger and acts agressive to get the main idea out fast.
Zawadx is a Psion because he secretly wants to become a wizard and control lightning. (don't tell anyone!)

And our leader, Krzysiekxd, while normally a Light Monk that strives for justice, in battle he becomes the Crusader.

Infects every task he sees with his opinions and except the lack of base arithmetics and designing skills, he is able to create a bunch of things with just a small move of his finger. His creations wont stop to multiply until they completely overwhelm you!

Krzysiexd was preeching the word, and began the new phrase "Word" which everyone used for hundreds of years up until the 1970's. I only have one word for Krzysiexd for this invention and that is "awesome."

After Krzsiexd died he was was forever recalled as awesome. In fact, Skotadi Phobos wrote on a song about it! By a unanimous vote Skotadi Phobos' song "Awesome" was described as extremely impressive.

After everyone said the same thing at the same time, causing a black out, Spike had to rush over to zawadx who was having a schizophrenic episode. You see, zawadx was worth saving because he impressed everyone with his causing mouth gaping singing, and Spike impressed every other medical doctor, especially the smoking hot ones, with his sense of urgency to the situation.

When the black out happened, there came some new religions. Fippe, a soon to be programming master, worked long and hard with Skotadi Phobos to create a religion, and it was called Church of the Divine Light. From the black out, this new religion shaped the world. It had tons of Asymmetry, but after everyone got named that as a child, how could you not call Asymmetry awesome? Then Fippe and Skotadi opened up the balckend world to be aware of a universe once more.

As a little pipsqueek who has seen the awesomeness of others, CrockettRocket was the opposite of them, evil if you will. But these awesome people have guided me through the light, and after I got off my rampaging ways, through the assistance of them, I carried it on. I helped others come out of there way of life from the blackout, the only ones that were left, and come into the light. They then made sure their children lived the way of the light, and thus forth till the dawn of time ends.

Team Whispers in the Dark is a team that is everywhere and nowhere at the same time, awesome enough to whisper secretly to anyone in earshot, but never be seen in the darkness.   We are like stealthy assassins, slipping in and out of the depths of the night. Our boss, ji412jo, is awesome because he is the Canadian G.I. Joe, a true Canadian Hero, as the forums have taught us.  Jijo is also on chat all the time, spreading his awesomeness to everyone around him!  Our deck builder is dark ripper, whose very name is the perfect representation of Whispers as the team of assassins in the darkness of the night.  Zergva, our writer, is so awesome that his name alone will win you a game of Scrabble if you could play it, and just like his namesake, Zergva can cut down a foe from the shadows before you can even say “6-pools.” 

Our card designer is eljoemo, and is so awesome that he fits 2 first names into his name!  Not only that, he recently won the create a contest contest, which makes him extra awesome!  Our Forum expert, theelkspeaks, is a newer member to the forums, and all new members are awesome because a constant influx of new and active people keeps the forum alive.  MegroN is awesome enough to capitalize the FirsT and LasT letters of his name, and is an ArtisT who makes awesome and (Morning) Glorious art!  Finally, last but most certainly not least, is our Off-topicer, Captain Scibra, the youngest captain on the forums and a strong force to be reckoned with!  If you doubt that we’re the most awesome team in this Brawl, we will hear you, and we will be waiting in the dark, like whispers, to prove you wrong.

All right, Death Dost Dominate is awesome, that is plain to see, but just in case you are blind enough to miss it, let me point it out: First of all, we have the most bad-ass teamname: Ferns merely tickle, Divine Light is cliché and Cuckoo's don't even build nests. Whispers in the Dark at least sounds like a horror movie, but one that doesn't even give 12-year-olds nightmares. Death Dost Dominate, on the other hand, is truthful, intimidating, but most of all, ominous. Now that that it is settled, let's move on to the team members: First of all, we have the only master who wanted to be a brawl boss, rob77dp, as OUR brawl boss. We (or, well, rob) even managed to grab himself a SECOND boss on the team: Our deckbuilder Odii Odsen, the current Master of Darkness and leader of the Championship League. Not only do we have someone dominating the PvP scene, we also have the majority of all the participating masters in OUR team. Moving on: We have Rutarete, who not only likes Metal (and everyone knows death and metal strengthen each other), but also has some great card designer skills. In fact, he has more posts in the just the CIA board than all but 100 members have on the whole forum, AND the 7th highest postcount of the whole forum. Then there is dawn to dusk a CO, in a forum event that basically consists of a lot of seperate competitions. He also has some great original deckbuilding skills as well, so original the decks aren't even possible in the game yet (but you can see them in openEtG). Next up is timetock who is much awesome, very wow, and he (supposedly) knows everything about anything (like a good off-topicker should). Next up is the dictator, long lost, recently returned veteran (another metal fan). And finally VevoGold, new, unknown, mysterious (and just as ominous as our teamname). If you still don't see it, try increasing the size and/or contrast of your monitor (or see an optometrist)!

Deity: Almighty Divine Light (ADL). Exists wherever light shines. Blesses his followers. Overall cool entity.
Divine Highest Priest: Krzysiekxd. Communicates with ADL and relays messages to the church. Overall cool guy.
Keepers of the Divine Light: Brawl Light Team. Advisors and bodyguards of the high priest. In charge of the holy cows. Overall cool people.
The Blessed Ones: those who support light team. They receive ADL's blessings. Overall cool people.

Goal: To bring others to worship the light and attain salvation and to be recognized as overall cool people.

One worships the light through acts of charity, Lighting dark places, and converting others to the light. All followers of the Divine Light must travel to the dark lands at least once in their life. Here they must do one act of light, such as light a cave, or help a lost traveler. The ultimate act of light is to convert a follower of darkness to the light. Converting followers of darkness is a task only able to be completed if one is chosen by the Almighty Divine Light. Thus, those who can convert followers of darkness are often chosen to be divine priest, and their dark converts loyal followers and body guards. Those who followed darkness cannot usually exist in light. This is fixed by the power granted to the divine priest to cloak the being in a sort of dark light, that filters out harmful rays while granting the creature an appearance of one who dwells in light. An overall cool worship system.

Route to Salvation: To be saved one must, as mentioned above, travel to the dark lands, complete one massive purge of all darkness from one's self, and Pray at the end of every week to purge any left over darkness collected in day to day life  from one's self. The consistency of this is made slightly difficult due to the constant light the followers of the Almighty Divine Light live in resulting in people losing track of what day it is. According to normal time, prayer usually happens every eight months or so. It's an overall cool system.

Life of Salvation: Once one has completed a pilgrimage to the dark lands and purged all darkness from one's self, an option is presented. You can go live with the ADL in his mysterious paradise and come back to the physical realm when ever you want, or stay in the physical realm and go to paradise any time you want. Most chose to stay in the physical realm until they're about to die, but those that go straight to paradise have never come back so we assume it's an overall cool place. Those that die before they can chose get a sweet deal too. The person becomes one with light and is able to travel at light speed across the cosmos in a never ending quest of wonder and discovery. It's an overall cool gig.

Name of Religion: Fernalism
This is the religion of worshiping the Silver Fern. The goddess "Cyathea" calls her worshipers Fernalites, the religion started in New Zealand and is now apart of Politics, Sports, and even used in dairy products. Cyathea wants the Followers to worship this plant of divinity at least once a week, thanking it for its many uses and strength to grow in many regions. The high priestess Annele lives where the religion started and blesses the Elements forum gratuitously as often as she can. Some rules of Fernalism include The passion for becoming the best you can become, Never giving up on loved ones, helping those in need, and finally just doing what you can to make those around you happier. The main point of Farnalites are to give off positive vibes that others can pick up on. Where we may loose in a battle we can learn from the mistakes made, in every negative aspect there are places we can learn to better our selves. "We all make moments, but it's up to us to make those moments memories", becoming a Fernalite means your ready to be what you wish to be, it means your ready to help those who you can and grow from those you can't. Just as the Silver fern grows and is a natural being so are we and we must look to become what we can optimally be. In every person a Fern grows and reaches out to other people we, the Fernalites, embrace this Fern and reach out to help those who need it. Come to Fernalism and help your inner Fern grow and reach others, help others not for glory but to help your self.

Commandment 5 instructs followers to remember life and death are of symbiotic relation, without life there cannot be death and without death there will be excess of life.
