Booster DraftOrganized by:
majofaTeams of 4 pick their cards from 72 different Booster Packs and fight in a double-elimination Swiss-style tourney.
1. HOW TO SIGN UP?Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.
The maximum amount of participants for this event is 24.
2. GETTING READYForming TeamsThe 6 players with the highest forum post count, will become Team Captains. If you do not want to be a Team Captain, you must mention this in your sign-up post, by saying something like: "I do not want to be a Team Captain". Organizers will then skip your name when choosing Team Captains, and you will participate as a regular team member.
Team Captains are given a list of 18 players (all the non-Team Captains), arranged alphabetically. Team Captains then list the players from most preferred to least preferred, and finally PM their list to the event organizer. The organizer will make the teams by first arranging the 6 lists in random order, then going through each list, one-by-one, picking the most preferred available player, until all players have been assigned to a team, and each team has a total of 4 players.
3. GAME PLAY<<< BOOSTER PACKS >>>
All the cards in elements (excluding Pillars/Pendulums/Shards) are divided into 'Booster Packs' of 3 cards. There are 72 packs, so 216 cards, which includes 31 Relics.
Unupped Relics allow you to use 1 upgraded card per deck.
Upped Relics allow you to use 2 upgraded cards per deck.
The 72 packs are divided into groups of 12. Each group contains one 'Relic pack' which has 1 upped Relic and 2 unupped Relics.
Each team will start in a different group of 12 packs. Once teams have made their selections, they will all move onto the next group of 12 (now 11) packs. Just like normal drafting, you won't know what other teams selected until the end, and you won't be able to reliably plan ahead. (This will be done either through secret team sections or through PMs.)
After drafting is finished, card pools for each team will be revealed.
4. DECKBUILDING & MATCHESAfter card drafting, teams will have up to 36 cards, depending on the amount of Relics they drafted.
For each match, each card may be only used in one deck (up to 6 copies).
Marks, Pillars and Pendulums (from any element) are free to use without any limitations.
Matches are best-of-5.
Players from the same team won't be matched up until it is absolutely necessary. If they do get matched up, the rules are slightly different.
It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
If a desync does occur, take a screenshot before the disconnect and, if possible, every turn thereafter. If the organizer determines one player had a clear victory - even if both players defeated the AI - a win may be granted.
5. AFTER DUELSAll players must submit their results and decks in the Round Thread.
6. WINNERThe final player remaining is declared the victor.
The winner is also automatically qualified for the
PvP World Championships - 2013.
