Apologies for the delay in posting.  My laptop's battery died just after the match ended.

He had a one-pillar start.  I had a good start and came right out with Recluses and a Bone Wall.  Pande killed the Recluses.  I played another.  At 70HP, he played Dim Shield.  Then he played a Phase Dragon.  Useless against the Wall he buffed, but also made my Plagues useless.

I waited for break in his Dims.  Then the Waiting Game got weird.  First, I saw, "opponent not responding", but the AI didn't take over.  Later, the duel desync'd, forcing the AI to take over.  By then, I had played 3 Dragons when his chain dropped for one turn.  He had 5 Dragons in play.  Even with a perfect draw on the Walls, my Dragons could not outlast his Dims before his Dragons finished me.  Lost to AI and accepted the loss.

My turn for a one-pillar draw.  Fortunately, my critters are cheap.  He played one Phoenix and a Fire Shield, but it didn't matter.  I had too much of a head start, and I outrushed him with more than 60HP remaining.

Duel #3 (WIN):  Frozen Anti-Abominations

As soon as I saw his Death mark, I suspected I would win this one.  When I froze his Bloodsucker two turns in, and he messaged me, "nuuuu stall", I knew I would win.
I froze his Suckers and eventually Antimattered them, after which he killed them.  He transformed my two Abominations into 23 Malignant Cells.  Since we each had shields up, that was the end of the excitement.  With 6 cards left in his deck, my opponent retired.

Although he had slow quanta, he had enough to play Octopi and freeze my Dragons.  He definitely slowed the superfast quality of this deck.  I got him to 15HP, and suddenly the tide turned.  I couldn't attack anymore, and there were Steamies everywhere!  We got each other down to 3HP before he knocked me out.

Duel #5 (LOSS):  Ghostquake

When Beef saw I was playing Ghostquake, he expected to lose.  When he played Titan, I got nervous.  When he TU'd a Ghost, I got REALLY nervous.  I chose to play only one EQ on the first turn because I wanted the second EQ to kill more than one Pendulum.  That allowed him the quanta to TU my Ghost, and that made all the difference.  I got him down to 5HP before he dealt the final blow.
Adding insult to injury, the RNG gave me a Nymph on my last turn.  Only one turn sooner, and I would have won.

And with that, I'm out of yet another PvP event.  This is getting old.

Very good match, my friend.  It was excitement down to the wire.  Well done.

And done with this event now.  As after every time I lose, it's upsetting.  Maul played well and draws are draws and choosing decks poorly for matchups is my own fault.

Game 1 - win

Expected of the two superb life rushes here and got it.  Healing >> life spam.  1-0  I built Vader Sader specifically for this round after not using one previous rounds.

Game 2 - loss

Expected Scorp rush now that the life-spam had been used Game 1.  Bingo - Scorp Rush.  However, I drew one Firefly of 6 in my deck during the game.  Lost by < 10 HP.  Grrrrr, the tide has turned and I have now used two good decks of our limited choices and ended up 1-1.

Game 3 - loss
Spoiler for Mono Wings:

At this point, there were many things I expected maul might play.  I guessed Mono-death would come so took my Wings deck into game 3.  Maul drew 7 quanta opening turn and played BW's, one Darkness Nymph, and towards the end once it was already in-the-bag one Armagio.  I built a deck with 4 attackers (Damsels don't "really count").  Losing this one was demoralizing...

Game 4 - loss
Spoiler for Grav-araoh:

Perhaps Mono-death now?  I went with another decent counter to it with nom'ing Scarabs from pharaoh's with Procrast.  Eary shield - check.  Good quanta - check.  Pharaoh early - check.  Maul playing pure stall with 5/6 freezes in top half of deck and Permafrost freezing like it is a Freeze card = FAIL.  I lose.

C'est la vie!  Win some and lose some - I lost this one.  Perhaps next time I can be in on the drafting phase to help avoid such a bad vault of cards (in my opinion).

Good luck rest of the way maul!!

Had early nymph and drags, fearing of hope (I thought they had it atm) played poison over drags, which slowed me a bit. Horrible luck by rob did not help taking advantage of it. Won with 9 hp iirc

Don't think there was much room for you with the draft you had. Sorry for the lame matches game 3-4
