Booster Draft 1 - Battles - Round 2
Round has ended.

Round 1 is over and round 2 has started. Three matches during round 1 resulted in a forfeit. Some kind of substitution system would have been great seeing that this is a team event, but it's too late now.

Find your opponent from brackets below and make the fight happen! If you are unable to, please PM me as soon as possible. Thanks.

As a reminder, here are deckbuilding and battle rules:

DECKBUILDING
After card drafting, teams will have up to 24 different cards depending on how many Relics they aquired. Teams can use any number of these cards in their decks, while other teams cannot use those cards at all. Marks, Pillars and Pendulums (from any element) are free to use without any limitations. For each Relic your team has, all your team members can use one upgraded card during duels.

BATTLES
- Each round of battles lasts for 4 days.
- If the fight doesn't happen, we flip a coin, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time
- Battles are best-of-5. Player who first wins 3 duels, wins the battle
- You are allowed to switch decks and mark between rounds.

AFTER BATTLES
- Both winner and loser must provide their decklist in the battle result section (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,417.0.html). A short matchup review / play-by-play is recommended but not necessary.
- If you lose a battle, you are eliminated from the event, but are encouraged to help your team to win (remember, winning team gets added to the hall-of-fame)
- When all 4 players have lost, the whole team is eliminated from the event.

Good luck and have fun!

Too bad with Seraph going all afk on us, that would have been helpful to have him still here

Yes, they have. I updated them before I started this topic. If you see the old version, you should blame your browser.

Obscene spam of creatures (and drawing them at an obscene rate, I might add) ran him over.  G-Pulls weren't enough to keep the damage off of him.  1-0
Round 2:

Thought he might try a different tactic to deal with my creature spam, so I added some Eternities.  I'm probably very lucky to have pulled creatures at the same rate as the first game to be quite honest.  2-0
Round 3:

Went back to the same deck after I realized he wasn't planning on switching.  Similar results to the first game, though I do believe it was closer for him.  3-0

I feel like i was pigeonholed into this deck for this matchup. After testing vs their various decks this one worked the best and actually faired decently vs GotP/graboid/eternity. Unfortunately i had to pack all those deflags because of the threat of rewind. All my flying decks don't work here and i had to worry about momentumed dune's as well. I guess i could have gone GP/Grav dragon/deflags but that deck is really slow.

Round 1 - Killed 3 of his creatures but he managed to pull 7 of them in his first 5 turns or so. Absolute destruction.

Round 2 - This time he played an eternity which i blew up but too many creatures again.

Round 3 - This time i had a chance except that i only pulled one GP this time. Ah well.... i knew i was an underdog here.

I think this is the first time I've beaten Root in a Tournament or Event format.  Even so, it took some good luck for it to happen.

Deck for Games 1, 2, and 3:
Code: [Select]
4vm 4vm 4vm 4vm 4vm 4vm 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c8 5c8 5c8 5c8 5c8 5c8 6ve 6veGame 1: WIN
Team E had three decks I figured I'd see some form of: Steam Machines, Flying Titans, and a Rainbow.  This deck tested out as pretty much dominating the first two and capable of winning the third with some luck.  I figured after rolling a UG deck three times last round Root wouldn't start out with a rainbow since the UG pretty much destroys growth creatures.  He played just as I expected going with a Flying Titan deck with Deflags, presumably for UG.  The Fallen Elfs happily wiped out his Titans and Dragons while the Scorpions merrily piled on the poison.  A couple Heals and it was a pretty easy win.

Game 2: WIN
I figured I'd roll this again to see how he countered it, and like the pro he is he grabbed the rainbow.  I got a second turn Elf out and a pair of 3rd turn Scorpions and piled a few Poison counters on before his Fog Shield came out to slow me down.  GP took out my first Elf but in the end it didn't really matter as there was enough Poison to take him out and I was sitting on three Heals in my hand.

Game 3: LOSS
Since RNG was showing me some love I figured keep the good times rolling with my beloved mutations.  This time though Root didn't have a brutal draw and he just got too many creatures out for me to contend with.  Ended up losing by a turn with Heals in hand but never enough :life quanta to play them.

Code: [Select]
5f7 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5om 5om 5om 5om 5om 5om 5p0 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 6rs 6rsGame 4: LOSS
I went with my rainbow counter UG deck hoping he'd think that I was going just the Elf/Scorps and I'd catch him for an easy win.  Damn him for being too smart for that lol.  He rolled out Flying Titans again and basically wiped the floor with my face.

Code: [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f7 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5om 5om 5om 5om 5om 5om 5p0 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 7dn 7dnGame 5: WIN
I had to do something that would be effective against a rainbow, but also outrush a Flying Titan deck.  I had tested this one earlier extensively against Flying Titans and it was pretty fast plus the UG would help on rainbows if he didn't get too many Delfags.  It is sort of a mix of Napalm's "Stall Faster" and my PvP UG deck where I rely on the mass :fire quanta and Fahrenheit to keep me close enough in the damage race for 2 or 3 UG's to finish the job.  He wound up going some type of mono :gravity Dragon deck.  The servers crapped out on us so we agreed to exchange deck codes and play the AIs in the trainer since both our decks were simple enough for the AI to not screw up.  I beat him on my side in a very close game, and he lost on his so he gave me the win.
Carpe Diem!!

I was hoping for UG or Sancs, which I would both beat. Nope. He had a counterdeck.

I used a different deck this time, still realizing the possibility of UG or Sancs (hence the deflags). Nope. He had a counterdeck.

Decided to go more offensive, and I outrushed him.

I knew this would be my last game in Booster Draft. TStar is just too good. I wanted to end with my favorite deck. Since none of my decks were any good, I used the one with the best name. Unfortunately, this was the worst deck in my entire arsenal. The game was completely hopeless. He almost EM'd me.

Lots of desyncs and games where only one of us got in, but ultimately I went 2-1 with this deck. Game 1 he had a Drain Life OTK, so once I got a Jade Shield out it was over. He gave me Game 2 after desyncing, and took Game 3 with a Discord/Darkness deck that killed my quanta generation.

Game 4 (Win)

Luckily, a ton of towers gave me a plethora of quanta, so I just mutated my fireflies until I got a creature with Destroy. Game, set, match.

Thanks for getting these games played, Jappert (no thanks to the PvP servers).
