so i noticed this is the comic book+normal book section so why not start one of those age old debates, about the two most famous comic book empires. this is simple state your favorite wiether it be d.c./marvel or both also your favorite heroes/villians from both and why your side of the comic coin is better.

PLEASE do not add in characters from other comic book dealers also please do not bring in non d.c. / Marvel related comics like dark horse ETC.

Marvel is where I started reading comics (as a huge X-books fan) and I'll always have a soft spot for them, but I honestly like DC better right now. DC has historically been sillier and hokier, but they've consistently had better writing than Marvel over the past 15 or so years. Almost everything Marvel does lately comes across as a gimmick... not that I'm super excited about the reboot DC is planning.

Hmm, I'd have to say Marvel, but only just barely. Though I'm not too excited about Spider-Man's reboot(a year or two ago). He's my favorite comic book character, an I personally think Bendis made a big mistake removing MJ.

On the flipside, I also like Batman, for various reasons. But I'm still going to go with Marvel, I suppose.

One thing about DC that always annoyed me was the whole disconnect from our world.  Metropolis?  Gotham?  Marvel characters are based in the real world. 

Plus I really just loved the real problems their characters had from such an early point.  Being blind, alcoholism, picked on kid etc.
