Battle - First Task: The Chimera (completed)

At various times, there will be a way to "Win" Battle, and receive a forum icon as a reward. The current victory condition requires you to kill The Great Chimera, which is an unusually powerful (and extremely durable) monster. It can attack players at any level, but cannot be attacked itself except by level 21+ players. While it's stats are intimidating, it will always give xp, even when you don't beat it. Only the player that deals the final blow will receive the "Chimera Slayer" icon, so while the strongest players have a definite advantage, anyone could win it with enough luck. Once the Chimera dies, it will not respawn like normal monsters. Instead there will be a time of peace, until the next challenge arises. Now get out there and kill yourself some monsters!

At 100atk, if we all do 25 damage per hit, it'll take us 400 attacks to kill it. There's 75 stamina in a day. It'll take six people an entire day to kill it if they spend each stamina point attacking it. Also, once the buy stuff while fighting glitch is fixed, it's recommended that you have 75hp.

Good idea.
Maybe a forum icon that requires slaying 100 regular chimeras (which should be considerably weaker than the great chimera) to be earned? It can be gained with patience and hard work and shows the winner's dedication to this minigame...

This was my plan before the chimera berf, it is useless now.

Spoiler for Tale:

Save about 12k-14k gold, that would take about 9-12 days.
Stay at lvl 50 with: 100 atk, 75 def and 85 hp.
Find the chimera and kill it in a single encounter through 10-12 supernovas or 50-70 stone skins or a combination, amassing a sh**load of exp in the process.
lvl up 20-40 times with that exp.

Personally, I find upgrading Health even less useful now. 1 point of defense is more effective than 1 of max health, up to 90~ def.

Can more than one person fight the chimera  at the same time? If not, then there's a potential abuse of this function of one person keeping a tab of fighting the chimera, and then just waiting until stamina/hp regenerates and keep on fighting.

Yes. More than one person can fight any given monster at any given time.

Maybe something should be fixed so those of us who hit the cap aren't just stalking for the Chimera aimlessly...  Or maybe add two to three more Great Chimeras.

I'd agree with something like this. Perhaps make the chimera spawn more likely for players who hit the stat cap or something?

It is at about half HP already. If the chance to find it is increased, it will die too fast.
If more are added then it will not be THE Great Chimera ;p

Well, they could be if they had assigned territories...  The Chimeras in references to their land, not to each other.

It was at 5001 HP the last time I encountered it, which was about 4 hours ago, to be precise.
