I've stopped playing battle, but when I just decided to check in on it, it seems I have 2343/2340 exp and a level up button. I thought leveling up was mandatory.

The auto level up happens the next time you get exp when current exp > required exp.
It delays a bit, but it is working.

I couldn't upgrade my stamina for 2 sessions since yesterday night...I couldn't get my stamina to 25!

P.S.Oh sorry for posting this...just noticed that the previous page advised adding stats 1 by 1...thanks a lot...

Yeah, that doesn't happen anymore. Also, Heal/Miracle have increased in price- Sot probably thought it was too easy to grind or something.

And it has been.  I recall leveling to be a lot easier when Battle was released.  Now 3 resets and I'm still L0...

Seems very inconsistent. Sometimes it needs me to click level up (twice), and other times I suddenly have 10 upgrade points as if the levels suddenly broke through a sonic boom or something.

I don't know enough English to explain it properly.
It is a minor visual bug that came with the auto-level up feature. The first time you click the button, you have leveled up but the page doesn't update on your side, you are still seeing the page before the level up. If you change to another page eg. upgrade, you will see you have indeed leveled up.
Clicking the button a second time when you can not level up does nothing but update/refresh the page. So it looks as if you would need to click it twice.
