The 4th overtime has begun. If there are no bids made in this overtime phase on people who already have a bid on them, they will be on that team. For example, if there are no further bids on odii in this overtime phase, he will be in fire.
This opens up for a ridicolous amount of overtime sniping. I'd rather have that a team left untouched for an overtime phase will become officially a team

imo, this mostly opens up for last minute ruling that wasn't in rules.

I see the points iancu and JCJ are making, but I'd prefer for the rules not to be changed again.  Changes make planning harder, so now that that change was made, let's just keep it.

It's best to correct a mistake then just let it be. 

Just to say.... I hate this rule being made up during the auction... it was nearing the end anyway  as most team as near the cap so it doesn't bring much AND it gives an unexpected advantage to teams who have lots of cap space still.  It ain't farfetch at all to think teams would not have bet this way if out of nowhere an OT becomes a do or die with you're team and there is no reason to give an advantage teams with more cap space as they will already have the advantage of more cards!

There definitely needs to be some kind of limit clause. Say Aether has bidded on me and has had the highest bid on me for X units of time. If another general were to snipe me last minute and Zawadx can't outbid him because of the small window of opportunity, then if he has enough points he can match the bid of the other general and the player can choose which team he ends up on.

Or even simpler, if a player has been bidded on and no general bids on him for a certain amount of time, he goes to that team. ezpz

They are trying really hard to keep player choice out of the auction process (other than favs/bans), as in the past, player's having the ability to choose which team they are on has left "weaker" elements in a position where they cannot get strong players (who would rather be in "better" elements). 

Under the current system, even if you get "sniped" at the end of this OT, as long as zawadx can pay the extra 20 points for the increased overtime charge, he can get you back in the next OT. 

The limit they have now added is that if you do not get bid on during the 4th overtime, you will stay on the team you were on during the 4th overtime.  (or if you were bid on in the 4th, but not bid on during the 5th, you will stay on the team you were on during the 5th overtime).

This will lock in a lot of players to the teams they are currently on, and greatly reduce the amount of options for going forward, which will drive up the price on those options quickly, and thereby end the auction sooner.

But why end the auction sooner with the cost of destroying most generals bidding plans?
We're in no hurry as far as I can tell. Besides this auction taking a week 10 days is not much compared to previous auctions.

I agree, changing the auction rules mid auction without any warning (could have started new rules for round 5, so people had 1 round to sort of prepare) is a little crazy, but I like to think of it is an auction-overtime-event-card.  and we all know WMs love event cards that mess with the Generals.

Either way, I think I captured what they did and why.  They are the WMs, this is their War, we just fight in it.
