No edits, so I'll just post here instead.

For starters, I looked at what teams people were interested in joining.

As you can see, my entire top 8 is people with Darkness listed as first favorite (I'm sure deuce22 is just being shy and does not want to be seen with anything but Aether as favorite). Annele has an awkward timezone for me and did not make the top 8 for that reason. Of that top 8, the top 5 I expected to be active (relative term and all that), with the top 3 being the most experienced players in the entire auction, imo, for being multi-term Masters/generals
Next up, serprex actually said he'd be active while Vindi is a fellow dutch person.
Odii/Aves/andre would have been nice to have, but I was unsure about their activity.

9-14 includes the 4 people that had Darkness as a non-first favorite. I would not mind them on the team, but would prefer they get a chance to go to their favorite team. Blacksmith is a bit of the oddball in there, but he did not have non-Darkness favorites, either.

15-18 are people whom I had no activity expectations of.
19-23 was just preventing to get screwed over by having to pay 7500 for them. Would not mind them on the team, but sensed 0 enthusiasm to join Darkness.
[unlisted] would prefer they go to their favored teams over filling Darkness' 3rd player spot.
