Ok, in all seriousness (now that I've had my fun :p) I've been in four wars before (4,5,8.9) on teams time, entropy, gravity, and death, respectively. I've won several tourneys and placed top 3 in every league season I've competed in, except for the one I dropped out of halfway through. (and I still ended up getting like 5th or something in that one for a non-mark reward code) I haven't won any events before, but I've gotten 2nd place in a few of them. (Draft, one of the TPvPs, and one whose name I forget, but hainkarga beat me in the finals of it, come to mind right away. I think it was called rent-a-deck or something)
I'm pretty good at thinking outside the box for deck ideas. I'll cite some of my favourite examples (which I have mentioned before in previous war apps) for this.
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/round-8-173/(time)-(sub)-lt-dragonsdemesne-3-(earth)-martyrx-0/In that match, it was not yet illegal in War to post a deck for a player that they could not build, and then sub for them. Admittedly, it was a dick move, but it fit the letter, if not the spirit, of the rules, and we snuck in a win.
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/round-9-207/(light)-lt-zeru-3-(time)-lt-dragonsdemesne-1/msg437024/#msg437024In this match, we had a sideboard rule thing going, and when I was clearly countered in a matchup I couldn't win (ghostal vs fractal rol/hope), I decided to change my entire strategy on the fly, moving from a ghostal type thing into a pharaoh/gravity mark so that I could devour RoLs.
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/round-1-166/(time)-inthisroom-3-(aether)-shaliyah-1/In round 1 of war 4, I was tasked with designing a deck that could counter both bonebolt and devtal, two decks that I had been told time had been rekt by over and over in the past, and that we strongly expected to face. I was very proud of this creation; it worked exactly as designed, and team time has continued using this deck concept in the most recent wars.
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/round-8-173/(death-gen)-rob77dp-3-0-regyptic-earth-discard)/msg1215624/#msg1215624I was pretty proud of this deck design as well. It's amazing what you can come up with when your vault starts looking like a giant pile of stinky poo.
EDIT: Won the Aug. 5 tourney, so have +1 mark for the element of the bidding team as well. Also have a couple electrum codes that can be used on teammates.
