Hi, I'm shinki12345. I've been playing elements for about 4 years now, but have never taken the time to join a tournament because it felt like it took too much effort. But I figured I may as we'll give it a shot.

I play competitive Mtg at weekly tournaments, and have played many card games in the past.

I love the light element, everything about it is appealing to me. My personal favorite deck is RoL/Hope using nymphs to get a high EM rate and increase survivability against momentum and SoFree based decks.

Why I would make a good War team member

Strengths: I've played this game for quite some time now, so have experience. I can be very committed to making contributions and can be a good resource when it comes to strategy if that's required. Although I might not have all I upgraded rares, I have the means to get them all very quickly if I need to. Also, I can acquire any amount of electrum to acquire certain upgraded cards if that is needed. Weaknesses: I like to be in charge, I can be overly competitive, my jokes are sometimes offensive, I tend to do things by the book(this is also a strength IMO)

Without making too much fun of your wording, this is called a PvP Event rather than a tournament because it's... well, it's actually just called War because it's more complex and larger in scale than any PvP Event, which in turn is more complex and usually larger than a tournament. We do have weekly tournaments too though :>

I surmise you've read the rules?

... As simple as it would be to just say "you" here, seeing I have no unoffical or official status of PvP/deckbuilding recognition, it would probably be best for me to diverge responsibility of the test of general competence towards someone else. Good point, subtly made.

Very well. As long as the reading is fair.

I don't know. It just feels unfair that some of these newbs could potentially be some of the strongest PvPers we... have as of now, but they might get drafted poorly just because they made an account right now.
Oh well.

There will always be good newcomers (& bad). It's to their advantage their skill be only known to General of the team they desire to be on. If they have no preference, they'll still want to be as cheap as possible. The only matter is whether they get bid on at all. All dealt with by PM'ing a General privately to assure interest in playing an active role

Emphasis on 'active'

Thus the wisest decision is to ignore Frozen's (or anyone else's beside General of the desired team) offer to PvP

Yes, I have read the rules all the way through, but I plan on going through them again just to make sure I have a comfortable understanding of the procedure.

As for the replies relating to how competent I am, I guess I don't know how to respond. I have no idea how good I am when it comes to these events, but I'm not an incredibly busy person so I can spend a lot of time testing potential strategies and variations on different decks. In that sense, it probably doesn't matter how "good" I am, it would just matter how effectively I can playtest and improve existing ideas. I love to pvp and playtest new deck ideas, I've spent literally hundreds of hours doing that in mtg, and I would have no problem doing the same for elements.

Wow, thank you! I appreciate it, I don't usually get such warm greetings when I join forums, thank you for the attention.

I was looking into it today actually, I'm excited to join the pvp league and and waiting to see what the tournament on the 28th will look like. I've been grinding FG's all day to save up some cash for it and of course for war.

Are there any other pvp events I can sign up for in the near future? If so, I would love to know more about them. Anything involving competitive play is something I'm interested in. Also, just out of curiosity, how does this forum feel about double posting as opposed to editing posts? It seems like every place has a different opinion on it, ranging from utter hatred to complete tolerance.

I would highly recommend joining Leagues ASAP and getting in as many games as you can. And the tournaments as well, although they're only once a week.

I'm not sure if it's too late to join, but you could maybe try Heir to the False Gods. As for double posting, it's usually better to edit your post. The exception is if you're making an important post and want to bump the thread, or if you're in the Forum Games section.

Why did you upgrade 2 Light Nymphs? :( They are more usable unupped in forum events.

Because when I upped them I has no intention of doing forum events. Also, they are significantly better upped than unupped in my experience, I kept dying because I didn't have enough quanta to heal in arena, or missing EM's. Tbh, I don't regret my decision, I had more fun playing them upped anyway, they look cooler.

Edit: also, in war players are aloud to use at least 6 upgraded cards. If I was going to use a light nymph in my war deck, I would usually want to use the upped version over most other options aside from maybe pillars. As more pvp events, I am sorta outa luck unfortunately, but oh well, I should hopefully be able to get those back eventually, and I always have one extra if I need it.
