I'll go ahead and assume I'm just really slow, I just can't see how this deck can defeat anything. Please explain where your damage comes from with this deck.

This deck was made months ago - Mind Gates were shown as ? ? ? back then. Essence didn't feel the need to edit the original post (which would allow the Mind Gates to show up) due to the age of the deck.

Why not just a mark of Darkness to power those 3 steals for 9 quanta?

Because it needs the early-game :aether from the mark.  The Steals aren't needed on turn 3, or even turn 8, so the Pendulums get the job done at the right time without sacrificing the consistent early speed.

Cool deck, looks like what I am looking for. I am currently using this deck:

Code: [Select]
5up 5up 606 606 606 606 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61s 61s 61s 61s 61s 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 61v 61v 61v 61v 623 623 808 808 808 808
which is similar in some ways. I need to get myself a second Lobotomizer (damn rolls :( ) and probably later I when I get more upgrades I ll alter it to look more alike to yours.

That deck (with only two Aether towers at the time) made me win Ellindis, my first FG fight, but I had good draws.

Thread bookmarked for later reference :)

I love this deck at the moment. I've been experimenting with using 1-2 fractals as well with good results. I don't know if it's better than the original or not though.

Usually you can get 3 or 4 copies of the next creature card cheaper than using a fractal, from my experience - when I mindgate the card - it's very rare that your hand is empty enough and you have the quanta to make full use of a fractal card. Plus if you have it on your deck you may get it instead of a pillar/mindgate/shield which may be bad for your progression.

Really fun deck to play  ;D just finished it with minor changes:
- pillars halved into pendulums to help against seism
- -1 aether pillars
- -1 darkness pendulum
- +2 quantum towers

the quantum towers makes the difference against some gods which rely strictly on mark for a certain quantum, for example with these 2 you can beat paradox easy.
Also quite nice to have one at start so that you can drop the shards way faster and without messing your starting  :aether quantum.
