I got a Dark Nymph from the Oracle, so I switched to this deck for my lvl 3 grinder.  She's my li'l sweetheart now.   I first went with a dragon deck + nymph, but I like the Vampires better.  Obviously play the Pests early and steal pillars early for quantum denial.  Otherwise, steal weapons/shields in later game.  Dark Nymph is for creature control/lobotomizer--especially helpful for chrysaora, lycanthropes, otyughs, FFQs, forest spirits, pegasus and fire spirits.  Can use Siphon early to remove problematic creatures before Nymph arrives.  OTW, time the Siphon Life to ensure EM.  Eclipse is essential to maximize vampire ability and get the pests in on the action.

The order of upgrades I used: towers > steals > devourers (damn those otyughs/fire bolts!)

So far it's 60 wins, 1 loss on lvl 3.
EM 75%.
Current average is 39.033 coins/match (was >40 before the loss.)  This does not include the value of the cards won (and sold) on spin.

N.B.: The upcoming "mulligan" feature of version 1.21 should help this (and many other decks) possibly eliminating losses and increase EM rate.  However, the steal nerf will hurt this deck since it'll take additional :darkness quanta to steal opponent's pesky pillars early on.  Not sure I'm looking forward to the upcoming changes....

Using a Black Nymph only for its lobotomizing and poisoning effects? To me, its power seems wasted. I'd put some dragons in, because vamp'd dragons are much more powerful than Vampires, even if they don't last as long.

Truthfully, I thought the bigger criticism would've been that the nymph is a rare, so this deck build is not really practical for the majority of players.  Anyway...

Believe me--I tried the dragons for a while.  It's a speed problem:  you've got to wait for your lil lady to show up just to get the vampire ability on your dragons.  You've also got to have 10 :darkness for each dragon (not to mention the 9 :darkness for the nymph.)  You'll win with dragons or vampires, but you get a much higher EM rate with the vampires.

If you want to play with vamped dragons, but you'd be better off just sticking with a handful of liquid shadows + dragons.

yeah i also think its a waste to use her as a hugely expensive ulitharid.
Ulitharid + parasite really.  She can keep the enemy field trimmed down quite nicely.  If you get her out early, you lock down nearly every lvl 3 deck since creatures have to wait a turn to use their abilities.  Ultimately, if you want to stick with a mono :darkness deck, she's one of your few choices no matter what the cost.

So, the Black Nymph is just an add-on to the normal Mono-Dark. It's not a vital card, and your deck doesn't depend on it.

But I advise you to at least put some dragons into it. The Vampires have low ATK, so sometimes if you can't win fast enough, you'll lose. Two or three dragons won't hurt that much, and they can be vamp'd.

For what it's worth, before I made any further tweaks to the deck I thought I'd compare this deck before and after the version 1.21 changes went into effect.  I had thought the steal nerf would hurt the deck, but it appears the buff on vampire stiletto and mulligan rule have helped balance things out.  I haven't gotten as many "lock downs" with quanta denial as before but the +6 upped VS packs a bigger punch and adds more healing.

Here's the result of 117 consecutive AI3 matches (that's how many I had compiled before the switch) in each version:

1.20
Win-loss:              115-2
Avg coins/match:  38.188
Overall EM rate:    75.2%
Cards won:           48

1.21
Win-loss:               116-1
Avg coins/match:   39.89
Overall EM rate:    79.5%
Cards won:           45

In the new version, I've won 2 pharaohs, 1 hope and 1 flooding so far.
