It works fine if you only have the shards upped, and that's actually not too hard to do.

I've dropped five towers for +1 shield, +1 explosion, +3 SoD and started tracking results. Finally got around to counting them, had an even 99.

88 wins (54 were EM, 34 not)
11 losses

That is, an 89% win rate and 61% EM rate (55% EM overall) against Lv5. I'd have more data if I wasn't just playing this during the lulls in WoW.

Losses were from sheer luck (no buckler/SoG after 10-15 turns) or Destroy spam (ie pulv, one time a butterfly effect angel after I'd lanced five previous angels)

wait, doesn't it say alternatively generates one (whateva quantum) and a quantum matching ur mark. so if u have fire pendulum and fire mark, isn't tht 2 fire quantums?

....no. If you have a fire pendulum with a mrak of fire, you get one each turn.
