Oracle/arena deck bug https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=51480.msg1100755#msg1100755

Yesterday I experienced an unfortunate bug with the oracle. I spun my oracle and landed on death and had to use skeleton when making my deck. My deck did decent but eventually drop below 500. The next day when I could spin the oracle again 2 once again landed on the death mark and had to use skeleton one more time. the problem was that it would not let me build a new deck even though it was a new day and a new spin from the oracle. I believe the deck building option is bugged if you spin and receive the same card twice in a row. This was unfortunate for me because I could not build a new deck and lost out on arena fun. Hopefully the right people see this and this can be fixed.

Intended behavior, not a bug.

I believe the deck building option is bugged if you spin and receive the same card twice in a row.

To clarify a little bit, this is the case (though it is not entirely certain whether this is a bug or a feature). It has nothing to do with spinning the same card twice in a row, but it is based around it being the same oracle card. You cannot submit a new deck with the same card as your current deck, whether it's the next day or a month later.

I am unaware of any official statement as to whether this is a bug or a feature. It could be intended behavior in order to keep the arena varied and prevent the same deck from being resubmitted twice in a row. It could also just be a side effect of the way the back end determines what is considered a new deck (i.e. oracle card). If it is unintended and undesired behavior, it could be fixed by just having the game store a "new arena deck" flag that is set when you spin the oracle. However, as this comes up almost never, it is not (to me) a high priority thing that needs fixed. The odds of it happening any given day are miniscule (well under 1%).

Really. This is intentional? I don't see the point of not letting someone build a new deck if they spin the same card twice in a row. It seems like a punishment in a way. What is the point of not letting someone build a new deck. I feel like it should be changed because that is unfair.

Take heart in the fact that (by the odds) it isn't going to come up again on that account for another year or so even if you submit a new deck every single day.

Yeah I understand it is not a high priority problem that needs to have an immediate fix. I'm not too knowledgeable about coding or whatnot but if its a real simple coding change then I hope it can be changed with the next patch. It's not that big of a deal but it is annoying and a letdown for people that the <1% chance of getting the same oracle card actually happens to.

Well that's all for my rant and 2 cents into the situation. Thanks for replying so fast to my post and clarifying the situation. I've never came across this before and wanted to bring it to light for myself and for anyone that this happens to in the future.
