Thats a good idea, but its another concept entirely, different from the rebirth-after-using-skill concept. And we shouldn't change this card anymore since its already made it so far into the crucible. >.<

No, Ice Golem isn't meant to be used as a rush creature, because 6 ATK for 5 :water isn't that great, and it's slower if you use Water Golems. It's not meant for control either, since Squid does it better. This card is meant to be a multi-purpose creature usable in a few different strategies and decks. And frankly, I don't think it's overpowered at all.

If you're the only one wanting me to change this card, then I'm not going to because I disagree with you.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

That's not a reason for it not to be meant for control. That's like saying Sky Dragon isn't meant for dealing heavy damage because Crimson Dragon does it better.

Ideally someone should say "Do I want Squids or Ice Golems?" And either choice would mean a different style of deck. In this case it seems to me that Ice Golems are just better because they allow both styles instead of one. Anyway I'm just repeating myself and clearly we disagree. :P

For what it's worth I've commented on this card and no others because I think it's the best one here. I think the design is clever, innovative and would work really well in the game. And water being my favorite element, if they were in the game you can bet I'd be using a ton of your golems!

I'm not sure about the balance of the game, but I'll give my opinion on the card.

The Ice Golem is much weaker at freezing than an octopus. Octuopus freezes for twice as long and doesn't need to be "reborn" every three freezes. Let's say there are two situations, one with four golems, and one with four octopi. The octopi, at 4 creatures each, can easily keep 16 creatures controlled indefinitely.

Four golems:
There are essentially 4 stages of a golem; ice golem with 3 health, 2 health, 1 health, and water golem.
If we have one golem in each stage, they rotate through the stages every four turns, one per turn. Freeze, freeze, freeze, die/reborn. Since one of those freezes is used on a water golem, each golem effectively gets two freezes per four turns. And since freeze lasts two turns, one golem can only control one creature. That's four times less powerful than an octopus.

Ice golems are not immortal. Water golems only have 6 health and can easily be killed.

Water golems cost 4 :water, while ice golems cost 5. A freeze would cost 1 :water, meaning it's not any cheaper to play a water golem than an ice golem. Also, 5 :water for 6 damage is a lot worse than 3 :earth 1 :time for 10 damage.

So I don't really think this card is overpowered at all.

That's a different element where as Ice Golem and Squid are the same.

It should be fairly obvious that Water Golem eclipses neither Arctic Squid nor Blue Crawler

Arctic Squid is a pure Control creature
Blue Crawler is a pure Offensive creature
Water Golem is both Control and Offense but at the cost of not being as good at either.

So:
A Control deck would use Arctic Squids
A Rush deck would use Blue Crawlers
One Control/Rush deck would use both Arctic Squids and Blue Crawlers
Another Control/Rush deck would use Water Golems

Sir Valimont. You prefer a versatile deck thus the Water Golem is more in line with your tastes than either Arctic Squids or Blue Crawlers. However not everyone desires to sacrifice ability for versatility. Some will indeed prefer a less versatile deck if it is better at its single tactic than a versatile deck would be.

Maybe if its targeted by any fire spell it will turn back into a water golem?

Already suggested before. Not necessary, only makes the card more complicated than it already is. Really, you hit a giant ice construct with a fireball, do you expect ALL of the ice to melt instantly? Of course not; Ice Golem will only melt when your fireball is powerful enough to KILL it.

Great card, I love the idea. However, I believe that this card is really underpowered when compared to arctic squid.

Underpowered? Whoa, that's a new one. Sir Valimont, what do you have to say to this?
