Using Immolation + Photon - Nova, I think the following cards are equivalent

1) Generate  per turn
2) Generate 5

probably pretty close, I think you can go a bit higher than 5, maybe not in pure numbers, but it feels right. I could see 6 or even 7. 8 or 9 is probably a bit high. Id almost see playing a Shrieker but that is a bit much. 6 is most shields and weapons, 7 includes most others. 8 Is the shrieker and I would see that as a bit much. I'd go 5 or 6 and 6 or 7 upped with no card draw. 5 is probably ok, but then I really start to wonder about certain strategies and look more at just adding pillars or pendulums. If the purpose of these is to be a truly alternate method of quanta generation, I think 5 is too low.

Of course it cannot be used infinitely but I don't like the possibility of gaining a lot of quanta very fast with a short deck. (12-18 if you pack 6 of these). Of course you also need Rustler/Leaf Dragon active, which in itself is very vulnerable. Maybe I over-estimate the power of this?

The combination becomes much more powerful with Novae, as it no longer takes nearly as much life quanta.  Consider a set of two turns, assuming light mark, in which:
T1 (assume worst case, winning coin toss)
Nova-->Rustler
+1 Light from mark
T2
Draw 1
Nova(+1 life)
Rustler converts 3light-->6life
Light version (-4 +3 )
Rustler converts 3 -->6 (total 13 life)
Light version (-4 +3 )
Rustler converts 3 -->6 (total 19 life)
Light version (-4 +3 )
Rustler converts 3  -->6  (total 25 life)

With a starting draw of seven cards, requiring one nova and one rustler at the start and then a nova and a chain of three light-versions (unlikely but possible, considering +1 draw and draw power of each of the light versions), one can put out two dragons by the second turn.  If this seems too unlikely to ever be possible, consider the starting hand of 7 + 1 draw on second turn + 3 draws from light version = more than a third of a 30-card deck.  It is also possible to do this off of one nova, although it requires great luck to not push under 20 life quanta.  It is even easier to pull off if one goes second instead of first, as you have +1 card. 

EDIT: Minor calculation errors, one starts off with three light after 2xnova +1xmark, and the second nova gives +1 life.

EDIT2: If someone wants to do the calculamatronics for a deck with novae, Emerald Dragons, Mitosis, Rustlers, Precogs and the Light version of this, feel free.  I have a feeling you could get some amazing results with 6xLight version + 2-4 Precogs.
