Now for a question.  Would this be OP if it stacked?  E.g.  Multiple Yatagarasu triggering for only one Deflag?

Also, how should this work in the case of spells like Lightning?  Should it stop it entirely, or should some damage still be done to the target?
My thoughts here would be that Yatagarasu would only trigger once per round per target. I.e. if you shot a target 2 times with lightning, the first time it would get saved but the second time it would not. That way multiple Yatagarasu would be useful by allowing a card to get saved multiple times. (i.e. gnome gets shot, highest bird in attack order saves it, others need not interfere, gnome gets shot again, first bird is too tired now, so the next one in line saves it this time... etc.) What do you think?
Also, how will the damage dealt to players by the Yatagarasu be handled? Will it be like standard spell damage (e.g. can be mitigated by shields and spells / effects) or will it be like voodoo (nothing you can do to stop it)?
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?

This is a necro but the card's effect is not clear to me so I would like confirmation or correction.

This does not prevent damage. However it prevents a creature from being killed by being reduced to 0hp.
Yata does not prevent a creature from dying due to ending its turn with 0hp. (Infection, Acceleration, Fire Shield)
Yata does not prevent a destruction from 0 time left on a death clock. (Sundial, Cloak, Dimensional Shield, Wings)

Who takes the damage?

Things I question:
I believe Steal does destroy and copy.
Yata does AND does not prevent sacrifice. (Virus, Bone Shield, Catapult, Immolation, Shard of Patience, Dead and Alive)

The owner of the card that would be destroyed would take the damage from Intervention.

If I remember my reasoning correctly, I think all of those prevented by Intervention.  And do you mean Skull Shield or Bone Wall?  And I think this was made prior to the SoPa change, so SoPa will be affected as well.

And in light of SoFo, SoFo will still die and remain unaffected by Intervention.

So Yata does prevent Viruses from using their sacrifice ability or being immolated or being catapulted?

Yes, Yata will prevent all of that.
