CURATOR COMMENT
-You have a slight discrepancy in your Text box of both tables that you need to correct before this can advance to the Crucible (It should read as " :fire :fire Engulfment: ", rather than "2 :fire Engulfment:" in the table - the text must match the card image's text, word for word)

I like the shield, even though it requires a lot of setup to execute properly (and even then, it's very tricky to utilize).  :fire :gravity duos are a good combo, but problematic when you need to continually kill your own creatures to boost your defenses (meaning that something cheap like Fractal RoL's or resourceful such as never-ending Fireflies from an FFQ are the most efficient ways of using it). This might be the new 'it' card for stall rainbows if implemented, and assuming you have this protected by a PA.

Nice work though. Resubmit it when you've done the changes above Nepycros. ^^;

Yeah, the sacrifice ability balances it well enough, in my opinion.
Except that Minor Phoenixes are hAXx. All you'd need is this and a Phoenix and you'd be taking 1 less damage every turn. Anything that lacks PC is pretty much toast if this even begins to set up.

I disagree. It's very expensive, and so any offence has plenty of time to deal damage before it gets to a significant damage reduction rate, and the player with the shield won't have any offence going. Shields like Fog Shield will be much better against rushes if you have medium speed, but this will be very good in drawn out battles, such as against FG's.

I like this idea.  It provides some momentum to the shield.  (Not as in the ability, but the physics concept)

I agree on Minor Phoenix.  2 :fire gets you started, then 3 :fire per turn grows the shield.  That doesn't even break your offense, it's just one creature out and you're set for life.  Nothing preventing you continuing to play creatures.  You could for example pack Firemasters and it's still a duo deck, with both offense and defense growing indefinitely.

7 :gravity really isn't that much... this is more powerful than Permafrost.

One problem with your theory... Any sort of CC. Bye-bye Ash = TT_TT for the GI (Graviton Inferno) holder.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Perhaps.  Unless the CC is wasted on the phoenix's living form, or it's Rewind, or the Inferno deck packs multiple Phoenixes, or it's Freeze...

Lobo and damage vs Ash do work.  In the latter case, the Inferno will have a chance to grow by at least one each time.  In a pinch, sacrifice a part of your actual offense.

Still more powerful than Permafrost (although requiring a duo to work), but I'm not calling OP just yet.  Powerful doesn't mean OP, an abuse that unbalances the game does.

the idea of a rare shield is better than the idea of this card

maybe it can be more balanced if the sacrified creature dies one turn after u activated the skill.

like u sacrifice a brimstone and if u're opponent cant kill him during his turn u'll get the + 1
if he kill the target creature effect will abort

That does sound reasonable, because the opponent will have a chance to retaliate before it's too late. But the text in the card has to be darn small to fit this detail in. :P
