We'll use this topic (and chat) to discuss who should take which deck with what build, etc.  As I said in the Deck Ideas thread, you are ultimately responsible for your deck choice each round.  I will not be choosing your deck for you (though I hope you'll listen to the opinions of your teammates and I  ).  Part of deckbuilding is choosing roles for each player.  It makes more sense to include who should be Lt for the round as a part of the deckbuilding discussion as the Lt gets three extra ups.  Likewise, we have a decision to make each round on whether to make use of the Berserker ability, etc.  In future rounds we will also need to discuss s/d/c/p.  All of these discussions occur concurrently, and we'll use a thread like this as well as chat to facilitate the discussion.

General - uses nine ups
- Lieutenant - uses six ups
- Strategist - may remove up to six cards from his deck before each duel. Each duel must have a legal deck, and his full deck must also be legal.
- Berserker - discard 1, 2 or 3 cards from the Vault during deckbuilding. The Berserker may use 1, 3 or 4 extra upgrades respectively.
- Quartermaster - if the Quartermaster plays in a battle, each winner from their team may claim 1 card from their element by relinquishing 3 of their salvage, or 2 salvage if the Quartermaster wins. Limit of two cards per person. Teams may not claim cards they already have at least 6 copies of.
- Standard Bearer - salvages N more cards and discards N fewer cards, where N is the number of wins their team has had that round.

Please try to have initial thoughts written 48 hours into deckbuilding each round at the very latest and remember that your thoughts on all of our matchups are appreciated (not just your match).  Bonus points for earlier.   That gives us two days to discuss, finalize, sdcp, add everything to vault, etc.

My preliminary thoughts are pretty random atm but formulating slowly

• They got 0 relics
  
• I think it is wise to send a QM next to kev. If we lose we lose but even if we go 1-1 there is some QM to help along
• Gen vs soldier is a nice cross ie if they send a bow probably deuce is getting it and most probably we see a strat psiontal in the other match or an LT
• Experimented with their salvage a bit and they cannot fit EQ and disco in a bow that consistently beats 2 nymphs. They cannot even fit either disco or EQ in a 30 card bow and be efficient vs our nymphs. Need to do this for strat bows
• Sancstal, rolhope and discoEQbow seem bad choices vs 2 nymphs with fractix being a meh choice. That leaves a grabbow (or 2) and psiontal
• Jen believes that there is a chance they dont have 12 dims
• Testing shows good results vs bow(7-3 straight) and strat psiontal(7-3 REV) using jen's mod of 2 nymphs

Sorry to go offtopic, wanted to say summet to you guys, but couldn't find the titanpad for the life of me...

I'd like to apologize for vanishing. Somewhere between my stress over school and work and my growing feelings of being burned out on this game, I broke down. I abandoned you guys, and that's not right. While I honestly never really felt like I did much in the first place, I'm sure my lack of activity has only put more stress on you all. If I had half the drive as the rest of you, we could be better off. But I didn't, and I'm sorry. Hopefully you don't all think I'm a dickhead. I learned a lot from you guys, and I had a great experience here. I'm sorry for what I didn't do, but I'm proud of what I did do.

But enough about me.
Gents, I'm proud of you for getting this far. I had started to realize early on that there was a great team here, but coming into this war I never knew we'd be contenders for 1st place. Jeez, I was hardly aware that air was such a useful element. Now we're guaranteed at least 2nd place, massive underdogs for upsetting Aether, but a possibility all the same.. Ya done good. I'm rooting for you all the way. ^_^

Main matches:
2 Nymphs is a requirement, so not much to say there.. As for our second deck, I hear that anything we bring will pretty much stomp anything but psiontal, so herp a derp.

Support matches:
I want to ghostmare, but dims op... GAH! I'll think of something... in the pad.

I agree that one of our decks should be 2 Nymphs.  I toyed with the idea of splitting it and trying to do two different things, but that always ends in fail.

My favorite options for our 2nd deck
Entropy duo: a tweak on maul's base build.  Wins against grabbow, dog against all psiontals.
Frank redux:  wins against grabbow, dog against all psiontals
Psion splash:  wins against grabbow, dog against dimpsiontal, a slight dog against LBpsiontal

Atm the Pony duo is my favorite.

After some testing and some heavy thinking...

1)We should expect a)Genbow with dims b)dimfractix c)dimpsiontal
2)Deuce is predicted to bring a dimbow/dimfractix and hain Lt dimfractix or strat dimbow. Aftersome reseach on decks played they fielded dimbows only under strat role and were all low on pc and not clearly on the OTK range(both used in later rounds 8,9th)

Jen's conclusions:

I started with the assumption that Aether will be running 2 Dim Shield decks this turn.

Their most likely options for doing so are to choose 2 of the following:
1) Gen. Dim Grabbow
2) Dim Grabbow
3) Dim Fractrix
4) Dim Psiontal

All 4 of these decks cause significant problems for decks both entropy duo and the aether duo above, either through the use of Dims or countering our use of Dims. Of the decks above I think the most likely play is that the Gen. Dim Grabbow gets played against me and a Dim Psiontal gets played against kev. My testing (and Xeno Testing) shows that both 2 Nymphs and kev's new FrankenDeck match up well against it, but that Dim Psiontal is a problem for Frank.

My suggestion at this point is that kev get subbed again - this is starting to get repetitive and that I play our FrankenBow.

This would leave us needing to convert 7 of the remaining cards:
1 Fractal - or other card salvaged this round
4 Psion - or other card salvaged this round
4 TStorm
4 Toadfish
3 Arctic Squid

My initial thought was to toss the Toadies & Squid, but if we manage to go 2-0 this round we'll still be fielding two decks and odds are they will have no more than 1 Dim Deck to throw at us, in which case Hurricane becomes a viable deck again (well sorta, Lightning bolt still wrecks its day)
