"Air-bourne Disease"? XD. I know there's a specific term for diseases that are spread through air, and that would work in a way. I just can't think of it right now.

Also, another problem with this is that from now on any card in the air or with wings can't have a passive skill. AKA, air can never have a creature using a passive skill without running into this problem repeatedly. In a way, it's almost like a nerf for air.

Actually, no, what I did with swarm can be repeated, or we could even add multiple passive skills if we really have to.

It is actually more like "future cards with swarm should all fly" from now on.

EDIT: Arsenic loses its 'poisonous' passive upon flying, gaining the 'Airbourne' skill. Also, Vampires ( :darkness) are also flying.
WHAT THE...?! NO NO NO NO NO, AND NO

I LOVE MY FLYING WEAPONS. YOU CANNOT TAKE THEM FROM ME! I WON'T LET YOU!!!!!!!! *bites and scratches*

That really sucks. This is why this card is a great idea, but should never be allowed into the actual game. HUGE problem. I have at least 10 different flying weapons decks I like to use from time to time, and some of them are really really good (flying discord+black hole, for example). If my flying adrenalined staffs don't heal me for 20 every turn anymore, I am going to cry. That is such a beautiful thing. Don't you dare screw up the game like this D:<

Many weapons have a passive ability while flying that balances them with other weapons. Flying titans, for example, without their momentum, are a hell of a lot less useful.

Finkel you completely missed the point: "poisonous" is just that recent addition that causes oty's to be poisoned if they eat arsenic, there is no need to touch the active ability.

Um? Cool it? Please? Read what he says. And flying staffs heal regardless of whether they hit or not. If youre going to complain, complain about something that is actually occuring. Flying weapons are airborn. Theres no problem there

And my list was all unupped. I didnt touch upped creatures. So unless i did another typo, unupped arent flying. *goes to check*

You need to calm down.

By 'If my flying adrenalined staffs don't heal me for 20 every turn anymore', guess what? It's still going to be that way - a flying Arsenic will still be able to do poison damage even when flying. HOWEVER, it's PASSIVE POISONOUS skill (if an Otyugh eats a flying Arsenic or a Pufferfish, the Otyugh gets poisoned from the passive poisonous skill) is replaced by Airbourne, which Zanz is thinking of stacking with Poisonous (thus, having multiple passives at once).

You can still use flying weapon decks and retain all those crazy active skills (Scramble from Discord, Healing from Staffs, etc.), but they ALL get a new passive skill when flying to bypass the Wings shield effect. Again, chill out. ^^;

EDIT: Beaten by Zanz - again, Arsenic will still actively deal poison damage upon attacking, and its 'passive skill' of poisonous will be merged with Airbourne.

I know there's a specific term for diseases that are spread through air
the broad term for it is airborne pathogen (as opposed to food-borne, blood-borne, etc).   But thats just a characteristic that a disease can have, anymore specific than that and your naming actual classes of diseases.  But poison isn't always a disease, toxic clouds, poison gas (or aerosol poison) are just a few things that are "airborne" that can cause illness.

And in writing this i came up with a suggestion for naming the cross between poisonus and airborne "areosol"

...so my precious flying weapons won't have their abilities revoked? Okay, back to complaining about how this shield counters too many decks...

...so my precious flying weapons won't have their abilities revoked? Okay, back to complaining about how this shield counters too many decks...
What about Fire Shield/Thorn Carapace screwing over anyone who has immortalized/quinted creatures? Or how Hope can demolish any deck without sufficient creature control? Or Diamond Shield nearly ruining any rush deck?

A lot of shields in the game can counter some pretty intense decks and decks that run along similar lines (rush decks/creature spam, massive spell damage, hard-hitters, high HP, etc.). Wings is still in its balancing phase now, but from what I see it, as long as there are at least 2-3 different ways to counter the shield using creatures, spells, and permanents, then I'm going to say that :air deserves a strong shield to help itself out, considering its lack of popularity, diversity, and strength as a mono/duo splash element.

Side note: Thank god Deja Vu's (and Scarabs) can bypass this shield. I would have been astonished at the idea that a 'concept-creature' (Deja Vu) wouldn't be able to break through the 3rd dimension (height) to reach the enemy elemental player. XD Thanks again Zanz for the clarification. ;)

Look  here: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,3.0.html

What do you see that can't handle wings?
Shrieker rush
Life rush
Some fractal decks

I won't weep for any of those.

I love the concept, I love the card, I love the changes this makes to balance.

If you play a deck with no airborne creatures, you lose. Sounds fair to me...

ah...this idea is terrible
you've to change a lot of existing cards to add flying ability
however it is overpower and destory the game balance
a deck do not have flying creatures lost atuomatically because you have 1 shield? this is terrible

I've an idea, just don't make it be a shield

Wing
cost 3 :air
spell

Target creatures' skill become "3 :air : Dive,
sacrifice it at the end of your turn"

(a pig is supposed to fall down and become pieces of meat when it lost its wing) ;)
