Okay, this is the last of the monos.  I'll be making a rainbow one soon, but I'm currently testing so many variants of it that it'll be a while before I make it final.  Rainbow just has so many options.  This deck is similar to others, but I don't want to depend on the one card alone for the win.

I tried a lot of variants with this deck until I ended up with this.  The main problem with animate decks is that a rewind can really hurt you.  Basically if your opponent has an Eternity out your screwed.  I didn't like how that sat, so I came up with this.  The truth is though you can go the entire game and only draw 2 Eagle's Eyes (and all 6 animate weapons).  That's just not enough damage.  With 4 animated Eagle's Eyes there's really no need for any more.  The dragons are the heavy hitters, but cost a fair bit.  That's why you get out your Eagle's Eyes first.  You can get some serious creature control out.  Even if you get stalemated from an Eternity they can't really stop your dragons impressive pounding.  Bone wall is a serious weakness of this deck, but it's still fun to use.

Disclaimer:  Everyone's going to have a slightly different win %.  Don't bother coming to me after 1 game and saying you have a win % of 0.  Skillgannon is not responsible for your bad playing.  If you don't know how to think a little before you click a mouse, then just leave.

Besides air's inherant weakness to permanents this is a solid deck.  You could follow the same pattern with just about any element and be effective.  Earth version with mark of Gravity:

15 Earth Tower
6 Basalt Dragon
4 Animate Weapon
4 Pulverizer

2 damage, 1 HP and quanta generation? Those? Well...

Pillar:

Does not deal 2 damage
Resistant to damage
Generates one entry quantum

Damselfly:

Deals 2 damage
Frail
Costs one entry quantum

...I'm not sure which is better.

I agree, but they are good at taking down a Bone Wall, and help kill the enemy faster. To each his own.

Yeah. I've played a lot with mono Air. It's really a toss up between the Damselflies and towers, but with Damselflies I can run as few as ten towers and be fine. It depends on what you expect to face and in which format, PvP or PvE. Against rainbow decks with lots of creature control, you are fighting an uphill battle anyway, so it's probably a good idea to pack the early game pressure and try to beat them before they get everything set up.

Here's the mono Air deck that I have tried with lots of success. You can replace one of the Animates with an Improved Fog or another dragon.

I wouldn't take those Damselflies because like Camel said, they are not that great. I think they would only be useful if this deck benefited from multiple creatures or multiple creatures dying. If we talk about quantum generation only, Towers are much much better.

True. But the downside to that is that Damselflies also make Bone Wall bigger when they die. Firestorms and Otyughs are a huge problem, although those weapons take an otyugh down pretty fast.

I'm not sure but this deck might perform better with one extra Eagle's Eye and Flying weapon. 16 Towers seems a bit overkill.

Or you could even drop 2 x Dragons and 2 x Towers, and take 2 x EE's and 2 X FW's.

I've said it elsewhere, but I really appreciate this series that you have been doing Skillgannon.  I wish we had a few more theme sets floating around.  Keep up the good work.

(Also, jmizzle's deck works, I've seen it in action)
