pika, can you edit the initial post showing what cards we have selected, how many are aether and non-aether, and how many more we need to select?

thanks

I just realized that we could just update our vault spreadsheet...

I am going to start to look at will's decks and highlight the ones I like. Will give my input sometime tomorrow

I think Silence is a lot more splashable than it gets credit for, and it pairs well with fractal. Assuming that nobody has an objection to 24 fractals, would it make sense to pack 6 silences, at a minimum? Also, I like the idea of using it along the nova-graboid deck that Will has proposed.

Definitely 6 Silences as a minimum.  If we're lacking ideas for what else to take, then I would definitely suggest taking more of those because personally I agree; they seem to be very underestimated for some reason.

I suggest we just take everything we want to take, and just thin down extra cards before finalizing.

We could go with 12 Silence (just so that we have enough to keep our Novagrabby going), possibly more (think 12-18) because it's so splashable.

Same goes with Phase Spider (12-18) because it's a secondary beatstick.

4-6 Quint for Dogg-style anti-Fractal tactics and for a Spider-Wings deck?

We should at least pack a small number of Immortals just for safety purposes; other teams might go all Gravity Shield on us if we show too many of our Dragons early.

We're best off leaving the Mindgates and Turquoise Nymphs at home and not taking any.

12 Graboids are a must, especially when we have our fairly effective Novagrabby.

At least 6 Poison (maybe the full 12) for our Poison stalls.

In the PC department, 12 Deflag and 6 Steals for our PU Phoenix (Firesanc counter version), Pestal, Immophoenix, and general use.

Rares that we should keep a few around to abuse:
Discord (at least 4) -- So that we could have a lightweight Entropy duo (maybe Discord/Immortal rush?) as well as Panda Dragons
Arsenic (probably 4) -- For all those Poison-Dim Shield Stalls we'll be abusing
Miracle (probably 2) -- If we choose to do that Dim Shield/Sanc/Miracle stall Higs mentioned
I'm doing science, and I'm still alive.

Level 2 Magic Judge.

this might sound crazy, but I highly recommend packing 6-12 cloaks.

aether is super vulnerable to EQ and PC. Most of the teams we play, with the exceptions of earth and gravity are going to have a max of 6 PC cards in their deck. Cloak helps protect our pills/pends and our shields.

non-aether cards we need that may or may not have been mentioned already

2-4 purify

12 EA
4-6 EQ
6-12 devourer
6-12minor vampire
6-8 steal
6-12 poison
2-4 Arsenic

non-aether cards we might want

6-12 cloaks
3-6 arctic squid
4-6 mindflayer
4-6 FLying Weapon
3 Fog
3-6 Wings
2-4 OE
3-4 bonewall
3-6 phoenix
6 horned frog
6 pandas
6 sanc
2 morningstar
2-4 eternity
6 reverse time

Alright, let's start making clear-cut decisions then.

24 Fractal
24 Dimensional Shields

Any objections?
None here.

How about any cards we know we will NOT be taking?
do we really need 24 fractals? of the decks that use it, they usually only have 3 or 4. I think 12-16 should be more than enough because we probably won't have more than 3 or 4 decks using fractal in a given round. or am i mistaken?

Fractal, PU, and DimShield are our most important cards, because so long as we have them in our vault, we can make an incredibly versatile amount of decks.

In the later rounds, when you start heavily discarding cards, the loss of aether cards makes deckbuilding really difficult.

Since you can Fractal just about anything, and PU just about anything else, and with Dimshield you can make a stall out of just about anything, we need as many as we can get so that we don't have to suffer from not having enough late-game.

That's what happened last war, so we need to be careful not to make the same mistake.

We choose what gets discarded, so if we only ever need 16 fractals, then why would we take more? If we have to discard cards, fractal can be one of the last things we discard. the way i see it, that would be 8 more cards we can use in the first couple rounds that we might not have otherwise had.

Discards increase each round. The Cap is at 30 cards. Like it or not, we will be discarding full decks unless we wanna really decrease the effectiveness of them.
