You're right. Bonebolt definitely has a decent chance against FSS. Possibly >50% depending on the build.
UPDATE: UT and I just had a strategy session in irc since no one else cared to join. Here is a summary of what we came up with.
= 2x bonebolt with fractal
-previously discussed
Agree.
= devtal (to non-Lt/Gen) and Fire stall (to Lt/Gen)
-we figured that they will use the SS stall against us again, and it works much better with upped cards, so an easy counter to that is firestall
-with their grabbow gone (might have more?), devtal should be able to beat all of their unupped decks
I'll check on the likelihood of another grabbow, give me some time. Will firestall beat their other decks, or is it purely a counter because we expect EQ/SS?
= grabbow
-grabbow is win for us
Never tested this, but eva/you/pika seem to always agree here.
= poisonbolt
-expecting grabbow here, but could see PU dragons as well. This seems like a logical counter to both. But open to other ideas
Darkness may still have a Purify, from what I recall it should be doubtful, but we should tread cautiously here. If we can find another solution, I would be more comfortable with that.
= mono-aether
-should beat everything they can throw at us, but needs further testing. While I hate using 6 dims against a weak opponent, beating them this round means another easy win next round.
Not many of our decks use dims at this stage of the game, so if we can take an easy win with it and keep the few dims we have left, that's a good thing. This deck makes sense, it's EQ resistant, time doesn't have much PC to deal with dims in their grabbow, GotP dies to lightning, and phase dragons are resistant to RT. Actually, anything dim-heavy would be something to consider and test.
= EQ Phase dragons
-wondering how functional their immonova deck might actually be (if at all), so the low-risk play is to use EQ. They also have a lot of CC, so Phase dragons are probably better than grabbies. Open to other ideas, but this seems like the low-risk, high reward play.
UW is always a strange team to analyze. This sounds good, but I'll take a deeper look in the next bit.
Obviously the event card can change things pretty drastically, but I think this is a good starting point.
Indeed. And I see that Round 9 isn't up. I'm not going to be happy if we only get 2.5 days of deckbuilding again.
