I would appreciate if we keep all our deck-building and salvaging discussion in THIS topic.
Final decks and salvage/discards will go in their own respective topics, but it's best to keep the discussion in one place.

Ugh, losing with both PUnixes tore a lot out of our vault...

Our PU count is really, really low, and our Lightning count took a big hit.

Annoyingly, with the need to continue fielding 8(!) decks, this is gonna be a really tough round for us.

I would recommend doing some suicides/pseudocides against earth and time to give us a bit more of an edge and to decrease our player count.

It's getting waaaay too difficult to field 8 decks with our core cards going down the drain.

Agreed. Strategic suicides makes a lot of sense.

indeed Eva. Thank god Higs didn't lose, otherwise we would really be hurting. On the plus side, we got more dims, which gives us 2 monoaethers. We also get to salvage more shockwaves, which will go well with wings and azure dragons (lack of PUs kind of hurts though, but throw in a couple of spiders and a phase dragon or 2). We can also run a Fire stall with RoF and pots.

So that leaves 14 lightning for 4-5 decks?

Hopefully the next event card will let us salvage some of our lost lightnings, but that is unlikely. Also, I thought someone said there was an event card where you can switch to any of your team-members decks, which might be helpful if that is indeed true.

On another crappy note, fire can salvage up to 5 fractals, boo!

EDIT: vagman just had a huge win over fire. It would be even more epic if sevs could pull out a win over kevkev.

I would prefer pseudo-suicides (yes I'm going to help out until I leave or get replaced). Yes we lost a lot of PUs, but we can salvage 3 phoenix and 5 deflag. We should still be able to run 8 decks, one may be weaker but have a good chance to win against ONE remaining deck (read: EQ Hema Dragon). That said, any team down to 1 player will have the most predictable vault, so if we can find creative ways to win against said teams without using up too many lightnings, we can probably pull off 8 decks.

For now, keep crossing your fingers for a good event card.

Hopefully sevs will win (might be a long shot, but who knows), which I believe will knock death down to 2 decks. What this would mean for us is that we would have 3 matches against fire, and 1 against death (wonder if they would use SS stall...).

If sevs loses, then I think we will still play fire 3 times, but play death twice. In which case RNG better not screw us again because we can't afford it.

In the meantime, EQ grabbies is an avenue we should explore against death. When I tried to build one, it worked well against EQ/SS but failed miserably against other decks. This only happened because I was trying to make a deck that could be used twice.

Though, what I think we should focus on until the event comes out are creative solutions with lesser-used cards for the teams that can only field one deck. This could be the key to maintaining 8 working decks, at least for this round.

After running through a lot of different scenarios, I think our best bet is to keep the pressure on fire and death. Even pure suicides (not suggesting it) to time and earth are beneficial because we can still easily beat them the following round, and it helps us weaken our toughest opponents. Hopefully EP (and will?) are RNG assigned to a weak opponent since they have a chance of needing subs.

We can still bring 2 bonebolts against fire (grabbow is probably the other play here), and hopefully we will only have 1 match against death next round, which we would only need to develop 1 deck that can beat them.

Again, the event card can change things a lot (was the difference between EP winning and losing this round, imo), so let's hope for the best and no more RNGfail!

Pure suicides against time and earth are ideal.

We can't be greedy about cards anymore. We just can't deal with having to use 8 decks anyways, so cutting the amount of players we need to field to match our :aether card pools will be ideal.

We have enough in our vault for 1 PU deck, 3-4 Lightning decks, 2-3 Dim decks, and like 2/3 with dragons.

Considering overlap, that's about....  5-6 decks? We can't afford to go for 8 anymore.

Yeah still not sure about the upcoming duel phase.  I'll probably only be so sure when Round 10 is posted (which it may have been, but this is the first thread I looked at when I got online, so :P) and I can see when the round starts/ends.

Hopefully sevs will win (might be a long shot, but who knows), which I believe will knock death down to 2 decks.
You know, with everything that went wrong this round, I don't think we have much to complain about. Maybe another team can do the dirty work and take down death for us (looking at fire lol). We'll have to wait for matchups to be posted, but hopefully we get the lion's share of weak teams.
