Will we know what team we face before choosing our decks? it might influence a lot the deck we choose!
For round 1, I'd go with a simple mono aether that's been doing real well for me

I think we should see what are we all against before we choose our decks and strategy.

It won't be team vs team--it'll be player vs player, so each of us may fight a different element, or a few different elements, but each of us will know what element the opposing player is from.  We should reserve our specific decks for the appropriate enemy--we'll have to guess what they'll be playing but we'll know what element at least half the cards are from. 

That said, try to make yourself familiar with how to play the different decks or at least the ones you aren't familiar with--go to the trainer and grind AI3 for a while (or even T50) just to get a feel for when/how to play the card combos.  You can even PVP duel each other and have one side be one of our decks and the other play an opposing type deck (shrieker rush, fractal devourer, blessed pegasus, fire stall, whatever.)

Deckbuilding rules:
- Any mark
- At least 50% of your cards have to be from your element
- Regular players can use unupgraded cards only
- Generals can use up to 6 upgraded cards (unupgraded cards taken from the Vault are transformed into upgraded ones)
- Lieutenants can use up to 3 upgraded cards (unupgraded cards taken from the Vault are transformed into upgraded ones)
- You cannot change your deck until the round is over.

Event Card:
- 2-0 win enables you to salvage 9 cards
- Substitute can salvage a total of 6 cards
- Other team members substituting salvage 3 cards
- No changes to round discarding rules
Deckbuilding:
Duel phase has started
Teams have to build decks for all players who are fighting during this round. Decks are to be posted on the secret team section. Team Deckbuilder starts the topic, and all team members participate in the planning. Please do not post your decks in public or talk about them in chat.

All decks must be made ready before the timer goes to zero, after which editing deck post is strictly forbidden. Failure to have all the decks ready will lead to a severe card penalty, and/or automatic losses. It is highly recommended that all team members double-check their decks before the duels start.

Duel phase starts when deckbuilding ends.

PM your opponent and try to find a time that suits you both. Time Zone Converter (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) might be useful here. If you cannot find a time when you are both are online, please contact ddevans96 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=3167) (Warmaster) immediately. If the match doesn't happen, you both lose by default, unless one of you is clearly more active and/or more flexible.

Duels are "best-of-three", you must use the deck and mark built during the previous phase, and you cannot make any changes to your deck or mark during the round.

Toimu, time for you to use those Holy Lights.   

icb, look out for Light trying to out-stall you with an Earth/Light stall.  imo, go for Fractal Pest.

Anyway, I'm tempted to use a 6 PA + 6 DS + 3 Lobo + 6 Dragon + ~15 Pillars against Fire.  Or should I go Fractal Pest?  Will build the deck rather soon.

Toimu, time for you to use those Holy Lights.   

and can make nice counters to with a Chrysaora/Poison deck.  Two others are fighting , but I'm the only one fighting and none are fighting this round, so a deck would be best for me.  gocubbies or mrpaper should think about taking a deck to counter the Poison, or at least a deck with Healing or CC.

You propose a deck, and it gets approved by the deck builder.  One of Boingo's jobs is to count all the cards in everyones proposed decks to see if we have all of those in the vault.
