Round 1 Converting

Converting 6 Aether Pendulums into 6 Aether Pillars.

As a new rule in War #2, teams now have the option to convert some of their cards. This means that they can replace any card in their Vault with a Pillar or a Pendulum of their element. Converting helps teams to avoid a situation where they would be otherwise forced to build "suicide" decks. Converting will be done by the Vault Organizer who posts on the Vault topic which cards are converted, and then editing the Vault. Teams can convert a maximum of 12 cards per round.

I haven't found where in the rules this is explained.  But from what others have told me, once per round, we can change any cards into Pillars/Pendulums of our element.  My question is, for round one, can we do that now?

Yes. All discarding, salvaging and converting is done during the deckbuilding phase.

Start a topic titled "Round 1 Converting" and post details there, then have the Vault Organizer update the Vault. Both of these have to happen before the duel phase starts.

We built all 9 decks without needing to convert.  So I only converted 6.

Do we want to switch some Pendulums to Pillars?  After round 1, I will start a Round 2 Converting topic.  This is the only time for Round 1 we can convert, so I would like a few people to post some comments.

I'm thinking about converting 10 Pendulums into Pillars.

10 is a safe number. 

We will have to coordinate next round as to what cards we salvage/discard to ensure we have decent decks for everyone.  For example, if we defeat 2 opponents from the same element, we can get 12 cards from their element to duo with or at least augment what we already have.

A shopping list may include (feel free to weigh in):
Momentum
Chargers
Dusk shield
Scarabs
Adrenaline
Discord

But let's focus on winning this round first.

~steal the idea of calling this a shopping list~

we should try and find a way to get some vampire stilettos and flying weapons for weapon decks...  (might be able to scavenge these)  also need nightfalls 2x, and darkness pillars for that deck i posted. 
just thought we could probably make more decks if we convert 2 wings into 2 fog shields.
also, i agree in converting some pends to pillars

We can only convert cards into Pillars or Pendulums of our element.

From Boingo's spreed sheet, we have 3 Pillars and 9 Pendulums left after everyone's decks.  But I think Dragoon and thraexis need to replace ~6 Pendulums with Pillars in their decks.  They might like it, which is fine, I just don't want them to play a deck because they must.

If they prefer their decks like that, I will only switch 9 Pendulums into Pillars.

Honestly, what about the immortals--say 5 of them.  The are incredibly expensive 4 attack hitters that you can't fractal.

Like I said in the other thread, we will need those Immortals eventually if we lose a whole bunch of matches.

I think we need to focus on winning and expanding our vault.  If we get knocked down early, the immortals are not going to help us dig out.  I am not the General, lieutenant or Vault organizer, so I defer to others on this, but if you can help me make a killer deck with immortals, I could sure use the help.

I couldn't come up with an immortal deck but I came up with this idea from some deck I saw a while ago.
