The Point is Fractal was overpowered due to effect, not cost.
^^This
What these people said. Cap the number of cards it gives you, or make it a quanta based spell. But making a whole turn slower is too much.

It hasn't, yet. It's done in trainer so that we can see if it's appropriate. Of course, it's likely it will go through as it is.

Depends on how good Silence will be in its final form. It could easily compensate for a simple cost increase since it's an awesome card already.
Initial testing shows it doesn't affect RoL/Hope much, BUT it might be better to go more for stalling than speed now. Basically, you sacrifice either a bit of speed or a bit of consistency. No biggie.

This huge nerf was uncalled for.

If any of you has spent more than 5 minutes in the forums you'll have noticed how they have grown a lot in the last couple of months, with a lot of both new and old people signing in (possibly due to some mentoring program in the latest week), and if you care to know what these new folks think about the game, you'll hear thing like "too much grinding", "the game is too slow", "not noob-friendly" and even others like "upgrading is too expensive", "grinding is boring", etc.

While most posters in this thread might have been playing this game for so long they have by now fully upgraded card collections, new players shouldn't have to keep up with your stubbornness, and they should have a chance to have fun playing this game. Why was the best FG farmer (since sundials, which were OP, I agree) killed? Because a +1 cost nerf was, surprisingly, not enough to counter the existence of a deck with a winning rate close to 60% which, by the way, wasn't even the best FG farmer at the time.

By stating this is the only viable deck to start grinding fgs you only confirm the very point: it's OP.
If no other deck can easily substitute it's place then the deck was broken, so it was completely called for.
Allow OP decks just for the sake of making grinding easy seems to be your implied suggestion........

RoL/Hope is not the best FG deck around, but the cheapest one which can work with an acceptable win rate. New people need a way to farm FGs before spending countless hours grinding for electrum. CCWB, the obvious option, requires a number of upgrades new people are not able nor willing to pay for, and even if fractal is (was) broken, this nerf seems too huge a cutback when a simple +1 cost increase would lower its winrate and achieve the intended migration to less-grinding-more-playing rainbows, while still giving noobs the option to make a quickstart into the world of FGs.

I have just noticed that :aether is going to get another stall card, which may or may not render my point invalid. We shall see.

Silence + Fractal somewhat negates the nerf, a bit at least, just with some minor deck tweaking.

But, like everyone has said, +2 cost nerf seems a bit much and, personally, due to all the uproar it won't make it into the actual game like that, but will be introduced to the game with the +1 nerf suggestion instead. Anyone remember graboid nerf? I didn't think so. It got changed so quick from the uproar, I don't think it had a chance to make it into the actual game. Same thing will happen with fractal nerf, or so I believe.

To be fair, Graboid nerf would have changed more than this change does. 2 cost to evolve is much harder to afford, whether you power them by mark or in speedbows/cremationbows. This change slows down my speedy RoL/Hope with Archangels, so I switched to Dragons and got some more SoG's to focus more on stalling than speed. It doesn't really make RoL/Hope much worse; it just forces it to go more for control than speed.

What it does change is every damn Fractal deck that relies on pendulums, such as Fractix and Frachargers, but those are a bit too powerful as it is, to be honest.

I think this is a good change, personally. If a single card is the best choice in acceptable to powerful decks across nearly every element, then there's probably something wrong with it.
