I've used the version with Mark of Darkness and steals with some success. I tried the mono aether first but kept losing to shields quite often so I switched over. It's been working quite well actually, the steals have saved the game a good bunch of time but on the other hand I often lose because I don't draw enough shields combined with not enough damage.

I'm going to try tweaking the amount of steals, pillars and critters a bit, but any suggestion for other cards that might work? I usually got tons of aether quantum and some dark as well in these situations.

Lots of people have good success adding a couple of Thunderbolts for creature control, though I've never needed them.  Lobotomizer might also be decent.

Actually, on second thought, a Vampire Dagger, oddly, might be helpful as it will heal you while the Dimensional Shields keep you from getting hurt.  Over several turns, a few HP per turn can add up.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Playing well comes with practice. ;)

Are you using the basic Mono-Aether version of the deck? If so, then you'll need to learn how to use each card to its fullest potential.

Immortals give you more damage per quantum (4 damage for 6 :aether compared to Phase Dragon's 8 damage for 13 :aether), but Phase Dragons are a better deal when your opponent has a damage-reducing shield or a Fire Shield out.

Dimensional Shields should be played when you're close to losing -- sooner if you're facing a Half-Blood with Steal or Destroy capabilities. Chain them (only play one when your previous one's turn counter is at 0) for more effectiveness -- this deck can theoretically survive for 18 turns without taking any damage.
I'm doing science, and I'm still alive.

OK, so a little adjustment to my playing of the deck is resulting in about a 7/10 win rate.  It just requires waiting about 3-5 rounds to play your first shield.

But, here is the thing.  Before I reset my account I was playing the life deck that scaredgirl shows in his grinding thread and was able to win 99/100 games and finish most matches within 5 rounds and less than 2 minutes.  The typical halfblood match takes 12-18 rounds, only wins about about 7/10 and takes easily 5+ minutes to win.  The money ration is MUCH better grinding Level 3.  As a secondary issue, and I realize this is bad luck, I have run about 60 Halfblood wins and not a single rare win.  In fact I have only hit 4 cards in 60 hands and they were all common.  In my previous account I have 6 of every weapon with the exception of eternity.

This seems a bad strategy all around.

If you get one or two lobotomizers, replacing pillars with them is a great change. Also, if you take Essence's suggestion regarding a mark of darkness + steals, you don't need to remove one of each creature. Just add two steals to your deck. This will prevent you from decking out as much, and your phase shields should have no trouble keeping you alive. You could also do a fire mark with deflags instead of shields, either way works.

I just tested out the deck and it seems to work very well! 30 games; 20 wins and 10 losses. I won one upgraded card, which i'm really happy with. Best yet, i even won a Fake God with this! +1 :)
