how does challonge function with this elimination rule? it is not real swiss system since whoever lost all lives will get eliminated so in theory a few rounds another couple of players will be taken out and either you create a new one or keep using the old one but with free bye for some who got paired with those who are eliminated etc

lol yep, I recommend changing the rule to make byes count as what they are: byes (no extra nothing, neither losing anything), or there will be more players that will have free (because they are free) extra lives... Or at least use that for uneven cases, where one player doesn't have a pair...

As said, the tourney is already running, so I guess we'll have to be limited to change essencial rules (if something has to change), and try to help the tournament end well :D
