12 Lives
Original idea by: TheOwner   |   Developed by: Essence & majofa  |   Organized by: majofa

Players battle and try to reduce their opponents' lives until only one remains.

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

There is no maximum amount of participants in this event.

2. GETTING READY
Each player starts with 12 lives, one for each element. These represent the Mark a player can use in their deck.

(duel = match)

Lives and Elimination
The 12 Lives event centers around each player's 12 lives -- one for each Mark in the game. Every individual fight within a match, you risk whatever Mark you choose to use. If you win that fight, you keep your life.  If you lose that fight, you cannot use that Mark again. Since you can't build a deck with no Mark, obviously, a player who loses all 12 lives is out of the event.

3. GAME PLAY
Every round, each player will be matched up against another player with the same (or similar) amount of lives.

When you lose a game, you lose the life of the Mark you were using. Any Marks lost also remove the ability to use those cards, so be careful not to lose a powerful Mark. Other than that, anything goes as far as deckbuilding. (See additional rules below)

4. DUELS
Duels are not best-of, but instead, are a set number of games (5). When a player drops below 5 lives, the number of games they play is equal to the amount lives they have remaining.

- You can NOT use the same Mark more than once in the same duel.
- You may only use cards that match the elements of Marks (Lives) you have remaining.
- You may use up to 6 upgraded cards in your deck.
- No 'Other' cards.
- MARK cards count as cards of the element they match.

After a duel and once per duel, you may exchange one Mark that you won a game with (in that duel) for a Mark that you've lost.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

5. AFTER DUELS
All players must submit their results and decks in the 'Battle Results' section.

6. WINNER
The player who is the last one with lives remaining is declared the winner.

7. REWARDS
Glory and the following forum award icon: TBD

Will decks be posted?
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

Will decks be posted?
Most likely, the first few rounds will probably be a lot of already known decks. After that, everyone will have different elements remaining, so the decks will be different.

(For instance: In the first round, each player has 12 lives, so they will play their opponent 4 times.)
Lolwut

Before every game, you must declare to your opponent what Mark you will be using.
Doesn't it make more sense to just show up to the match using the mark you intend to?  The way it's written, it seems like we need to discuss ahead of time...?

- You may include Shards that match your Mark in your deck.
SoR doesn't reference the use of a time mark.  Is it considered a time card for this purpose?  Maybe a list of all shards would be prudent.

After a duel, you may exchange a Mark that you won a game with (in that duel) for a Mark that you've lost.
Only one, right?

All players must submit their results in the 'Battle Results' section.
Results or decks?

and the following forum award icon: TBD
Not using the old icon?

Other questions/observations:
'Other' cards not allowed?
What about mark cards?
Looks like you got rid of the undefeated earns you a previously lost mark rule.

It'll be 4 games per round until players start falling to 3 lives or less.

This was something I just threw in there, but it'll probably be removed. There isn't really a way for both players to declare their Marks at the same time. (It was to add some strategy in knowing your opponent's Mark.)

Ya, I'll throw one together, as some people may not know.

I thought the old icon was supposed to be a heart? To me it looks like an apple... maybe the next one can be an orange? (I'd like it slightly different.)

Other questions/observations:
'Other' cards not allowed? - No other cards (except shards)
What about mark cards? - Mark cards are considered the same as pillars of the same element.
Looks like you got rid of the undefeated earns you a previously lost mark rule. - Sometimes was confusing and got messed up with forfeits. Added the Mark exchange rule because of this.

... I assume this is true only when you have 4 or more lives left.  Also, how should it be played then.. say I have 2 lives left but need to play 4 matches.. Do I play my 2 marks first and then whatever I want among those 2 for the rest?

Not so much in the first rounds.
