Mark : 3x Gravity
Creature Control : 8x Overdrive
Permanent Control : 4x Shard of Focus

Akebono is the first mono False God that demonstrates the true power of Gravity. He starts aggressively by playing his indestructible Massive Dragons, and use Overdrive to make them into a growing menace. His Armagios and Tower Shield nullifies the damage the opponent deals, and even if the opponent shields up, he owns Unstoppable and more important, Chimeras to bypass the puny defense.

One counter to this god is Rewind or Eternity, which has Rewind as its ability. Overdrive/Momentumed creatures or Chimera are put into waste by a single Rewind. Antimatter is very powerful when used late, much like against Rainbow.

For RoL/Hope and its variations, this FG is hard and all about early Electrocutor and SoG’s/Sanctuaries/Sundials. He will get some damage through, and faster than you get set up, so you’ll need stalling to make up for that while and after you’re set up. Lobotomise all you can and pray you survive the Chimeras so you can Lobotomise those as well.

Flay 'em, Limitless Speed FG OTK, and other permanent-reliant decks will have a hard time since the 4 Shards of Focus will wipe several permanents out and wipe quanta out.

If you use voodoo bravery, use basilisk bloods to slow down the accelerated creatures. Chimera is still a problem, so move quickly and save a few basilisk bloods just in case. You could PU the accelerated creatures instead of saving them for your doll.

In contrast, poison stalls do very well against Akebono, putting momentum and PC to waste with SoSacs. Akebono has only minimal healing, so poison will kill him sooner or later.

Oracle Counter

One of the best known counters to this god is Liquid Antimatter, the deck that utilizes the combination of Liquid Shadow and Antimatter. Try to hold out for a large dragon/Armagio, then hit it with Chaos Power (if you can), then Antimatter/Liquid Shadow.

The non-upgraded deck works on a similar principle, but uses Purple/Black Nymphs instead. Get a Purple Nymph out ASAP, followed by a Black Nymph. Use Liquid Shadow as Lobotomize for SOF.

Alternatively, you can just use antimatter to stop his creatures and run him over with creatures of your own.
