Disclaimer: All information below is subject to change. It is there just to give you an idea what the event could look like. Final version is probably something very different.

Also some of these ideas are mine, and some of them are by other community members. I will not start digging old topics to see who suggested what, so if you want credit, post here.

Open a bigger version of the map in a new tab

What is World of Elements?

World of Elements (WoE) is a large-scale community-driven forum event built around Elements the game. Any community member can join WoE at any time. All you need is Elements game account, a forum account, and a thirst for power and glory.

The basic idea of WoE is very similar to Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (or MMORPG's). In WoE you create a character that leads a small army (your cards). You move around a big map, collecting resources, doing quests, and of course fighting the enemy. All battles are done using http://elementsthegame.com/ , everything else happens inside these forums.

This event has three major goals:
1. Fun
2. Strengthen the community
3. Provide Elements developers with new ideas on how to maybe expand Elements in the future (Lead Developer has talked about a map thing before)

I think a balanced map is most important thing and once you've got that the other bits should follow. How about having different topics to discuss different aspects (map topic, gameplay topic etc.)

Yes, that's exactly what's going to happen. This is just an introductory topic.

you will post what you are going to do in the secret forum section of your element. If you do not post anything, it is assumed that you chose C, do nothing. This means you don't have to be online 24/7 or suffer huge penalties. If you cannot play for a week or two, your character (and army) just stays in one place doing nothing. When you are ready to rejoin the event, you just continue where you left off.

If you move to a square occupied by your enemy (different element icon) you must fight him/her. Loser discards 18 cards and winner salvages 6 cards. (or something like that).
So what if Im on tile 12B, leave for a while, while im gone, miwally moves to tile 12B and he is a different element?

And what if I come back and Puppychow is on that tile (who is also a different element)
This sig was interrupted by Joe Biden

Will it not be in real-time actually it's a good question because I'm not sure.

Umm... How do you keep track of players deck after 100 players are in and 15 rounds have passed?

If you have duo deck with limited card choice, why would you ever go into 3rd territory, forcing you to have mark you have no use of?
If decks are predefined, and two neighbor elements start mass fights, would the winner here be somewhat predefined by initial decks?
Do you HAVE TO move "forward" or can you circle around or run from stronger army? How do we keep track of who is where after loads of people join?

More players per hex should be resolved somehow. Larger map would be a necessity too, depending on the players.

Feeding players: how will we regulate players that continually fight against a "stronger" opponent feeding him with cards? (provided players never get "killed", just thrown back to the beginning)

There are more questions that I'm really unsure how to solve, and almost all problems come with unlimited number of players on the field.

Like I have said a million times, that map there is NOT final. Everyone just forget that map. The final version of that map will be much bigger with more hexagons.

All updating will be done by WoE organizers. We probably need 12 of them, one per element + "special" organizers like "Duel Organizer" for example.

The key here is to build an interactive map that all these 12 WoE organizers can edit. every 3 days, they more players of their elements on the map. Then the "Duel Organizer" starts a thread saying who fights who, etc.

Yea I'm having the same issues as Malduk...don't get me wrong this is a really cool idea and would be awesome if we could do it...but how do you expect to manage it all? We already had enough trouble in war keeping up with 12 vaults that each had 6 players that could've taken charge of them...now everyone's going to get an individiual vault? Also, like Malduk said, how do you keep track of who is where? I think this would be really cool but probably not that plausible for a Forum-based MMORPG and would need to somehow be programmed into the game (or alongside the game...like a seperate "Elements MMO" that used the same mechanics for dueling) by zanz... anyways, if it does happen on the forums, i think it's going to need to be made simpler... and/or have a few seperate games going at once each with a different "World Manager" so that the size of the games are more managable...

Everyone will start their own topic in the secret section of the forums. This one topic will have all the information. It's like a character sheet.

Oh and we will of course first test this event in very small scale, maybe a battle between :light and :darkness.

Player names will be visible on the map. From there you can see who is where.

So will this possibly be a replacement for war or a separate thing?

I'm kind of confusd on what constitutes a Duel...

Lets pretend I'm  :life...
-I move onto an empty  :fire Hex do I duel someone? Who?
-I move onto a  :fire hex occupied by Antagon I duel him right? How long do I have to complete this duel?
-I move onto a :darkness hex occupied by BloodShadow and Miniwally (can two people occupy 1 hex...if not there's going to be issues in movement etc...)...who do I fight?
-I move onto a  :light hex occupied by Xinef ( :time)? Do I duel? Who?
-I move to an  :earth hex occupied by Terroking.  Meanwhile MrBlonde ( :death) also moves to that same hex.  Who do I fight? Who does MrBlonde fight? Who does Terroking fight?
-I move onto an unoccupied  :gravity hex.  Essence ( :water) moves to that same hex.  Do I duel? Who?

I'm really looking forward to this actually, however it gets implemented.  Although, since I do like to take my time and not get stuck on a strict schedule, if I chose to do nothing the next round and a player moves to my hex, what happens?  Do we both just assume that the other doesn't exist for the moment?
Else known as "JonTheBon"

I also make videos and stuff.
