For the most powerful skill trees, I voted:

  • :air - Calm Before The Storm is potentially broken, especially in the early game. Together with Rising Storm and Mobility, Air has a number of powerful T1 skills.
  • :darkness - Shadow Jump is one of the best movement skills, especially if the Darkness team use it smartly. It essentially represents a large bonus when they take on an element-wide quest. Disguise is good, but I suspect Stealth will prove to be a massive advantage. Finally, Sacrifice should be quite popular and almost universally used for every battle.
  • :entropy - Anomaly and Convert are some of the most powerful deckbuilding skills in the game. With them, an Entropy player has very little need to mess around with trading and buying from shops. Diversion I and II are also duel winners in the early game or against newbies.
And the most fun:

  • :fire - FIRE RAGE!
  • :life - Turning everything to forest and then running around in it whilst other people are slowed down sounds pretty hilarious. Also Scouting is the sort of skill which is right up my alley.
  • :time - Lots of cool skills here. Adventurer is a must-have, Scribe is nice, Research is great, Scholar is amazing. Foresight is pretty neat too. Stall is quite powerful.

Critical Strike makes it always a gamble to fight UW. Sounds really fun.
I voted Entropy, Gravity and Light on both polls, mainly because they have many skills that help before a battle rather than give you a reward in case you win. The Champion Skills are especially noticeable in this respect. In a game like this, strong = fun to me, in the long run.

Aether needs more offense, as we all know. One concern I have is that discarding is really common, and very annoying to deal with. Might detract from the fun. Speaking of that, Time Champion Skill is admittedly weak, but extremely irritating. If striving for fun, that skill is the antithesis.

I voted Air, Death, and Entropy for power, and Gravity, Time, and Underworld for fun. Actually, some of those could overlap, but....

I did have one question, though. Once a Death(or anyone, for that matter) player has both animate skills, do they gain a mummy and a bone dragon after a battle, or does the dragon skill replace the mummy?

EDIT: Oh, and is it just me, or is there no "engineering" topic, for Gravity's skill?

Entropy: The best skill tree in my opinion.  Early on Anomaly, Convert, and Diversion give you a strong deck-building advantage.  It gets better in Tier 2 with the ability to now go Rainbow with Stellar Radiation as well as getting the needed cards with Anomaly II and Convert.  You get an even greater edge in dueling with Diversion II and Confusion.  Tier 3 just gets even crazier by not only forcing them to use certain Marks, but also blocking them from using key counter cards with Diversion II and then being able to pull from a sideboard in case he did something unexpected in your first game.  And woe to anybody who doesn't have a Rainbow library to draw from if they face a Champion of Entropy.  The only Champion that is better I think is the Gravity Champion.

Time: They have some meh skills but a few are real gems.  The adventurer skill is nice since it allows you to finish the quest chain faster while picking up more things along the way.  Foresight is a nice dueling advantage if used wisely.  But to me, the best skill here is the Research skill.  Use your first Relic to learn Digging to get more Relics (or just learn it permanently).  After that, you have access to unlimited Relics to use for every Fast Travel which will help with quests; every crafting skill for access to every rare card; many deck-building and dueling advantages like Convert, Rising Storm, Summon a Creature; and many other in-WoE advantages like Shadow Jump, Mobility, Black Market, Trading.  Clockmaker and Scholar (especially if this is any Tier 3 or down Skill) are great.  The Champion skill is pretty good.

Tied for third is Darkness and Underworld.  For UW, the stand out skills are Disarm, Black Market (if there are some really nice illegal items), and Trading.  For Darkness, Summon a Creature is nice early on.  Shadow Jump is fantastic.  Mage Hunter is a killer skill and the Champion skill is devastating.

So basically, if you want to win by conquering, go with Entropy.  If you want to win by questing, go with Time.

Except the quests will no doubt be related to duels, so go with Entropy if you want to win. :) There are a lot of ways to advance in the game but winning duels should and will be at the forefront, so skills that effect the duels themselves need to be reviewed carefully.  A level 5 Entropy opponent can choose my mark, force me to use three quantum pillars, and ban two cards from my deck.  It's a bit much methinks.

I don't like having to waste a skill point on the UW skill Trading.

Hilarious synergy of the day: Arctic Mage/Mage Hunter: force your opponent to equip 6 spells he can't use. :)

I personally feel fire gets a little underpowered when it comes to its skill tree. I think Destroy and Fireguard abilities should be swapped. In the early game, destroying and improvement doesn't seem too common of an ability used, and there most likely won't be many improvements for awhile for it to be used on. But it could be a powerful ability once peopel's levels start increasing a lot.

The fireguard ability seems like it would have a bit more use early game. By switching the two, you could keep the fireguard skill name, and change destroy to 'Fire Starter'

Uncontrollable rage, I really dislike skills that can cause negative impacts to myself, but that's a different issue. Good reward for a moderate risk.

I believe the reason for Destroy tp be a Tier1 skill is to make it easier to access for other elementals - it could be a bit unfair to allow fire elementals only to destroy.

I could say the same for many other Tier 3 Skills. But the point I was trying to make is that in early game, when abilities matter the most(I say) destroy has no use. Over a long period of time, destroy could become something good in mid-late game, which is why i saw it deserves to be moved up the skill tree some.

Still voting :entropy and :air as the most overpowered, again largely due to their T1 skills.

Most fun? Probably :light or :time still.
