Bidding will end if and only if 60 players have been bid on, unless a general goes inactive. As players go out of range, generals will start bidding on new players. I don't see it going over 2 days of overtime.

I saw something about tiers in the market prices. What are those?

They can be ignored. Only thing needed is the price and the name of the item.

I'm going to guess that they were tiered based on their usage in War 8 decks, and then priced accordingly.

On how prices were chosen: rather arbitrarily. www3 took some stats, I took some feedback (Especially from RootRanger), but overall I don't really care about the general balance of the decisions as long as it produces a different meta. If Fire has a bit of an uphil battle that's not so bad, I'm sure it's less than other elements have had in previous wars. But I don't think I actually made the prices as extreme as I should've. Decided to be a bit careful, Root was the one to actually suggest raising the gap. Also there's the matter that since pillars are free larger creatures have to cost more since Abomination+Abomination should cost about the same as Pillar+Dragon

Next war the prices should be randomly generated based on (5+random(cost*5...cost*15))

Is there an event-breaking reason why team selection has to be conducted by the end of this round's deckbuilding phase as opposed to the end of this round's duel phase? It just seems like it'd be a really unfortunate series of events for one member to get mauled by a bear during this dueling phase and then not being able to switch them out for another player until Round 3, consequently potentially losing out on salvages as a result due to substitutions.

As explained in chat, it gives us time to make matchups. Also, the countdown acts as a guideline, and if you do wish to change a player, you can send it and we will likely change it, as long as we have enough time to make the change.

Arranging according to vault tool would mean players have to be finalized after that round's deckbuilding phase, which might cause problems in arranging times.

No, it doesn't. Set players for Round 2 during Round 1. Then at the start of Round 2, when matchups are made, clear them and then set players for Round 3.
