Deckbuilding
Duel phase has started
Deadline: 17th Feb GMT 0:00
Teams have to build decks for all players who are fighting during this round. All team members participate in the planning. Please do not post your decks in public or talk about them in chat.

All decks must be made ready before the timer goes to zero, after which, editing decks is strictly forbidden. Failure to have all of the decks ready will lead to a severe card penalty and/or automatic losses. It is highly recommended that all team members double-check their decks before the duels start.

Duel phase starts when deckbuilding ends.

PM your opponent and try to find a suitable time. Time Zone Converter (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) might be useful here. If you cannot find a time when you both are online, please contact Warmasters--mathman101, and asdw152--immediately. If the match does not happen, you both lose by default unless one of you is clearly more active and flexible.

Duels are "best-of-five", you must use the deck and mark built during the previous phase, and you cannot make any changes to your deck or mark during the round.

"Upgrades from roles may be moved around among the teams 4 decks. The resulting decks must all contain at least 4 in-element upgrades and the number of upgrades may not exceed half the decksize before use of relics"

Sharing: Upgrades may be moved around however the team wishes among their 4 decks.
Decks must still have the required 4 in-element upgrades.
Ex. a team sends Gen, Lt, Salv, Disc, they have 15+12+8+8=43 upgrades to split among the 4 decks. they may arrange them in any way they want (22/13/4/4, or 11/11/11/10, or any other combination)
The minimum amount of upgrades per deck must not fall below the 4 in-element upgrades, nor shall any one deck have more than 50% of the decks size be upgrades from the SEC. (this means you can still fully upgrade a deck with relics)
This means that the total upgrades in your deck from the SEC cannot be more than 50% of your deck size.
Ex. 15 ups in a 30 card deck can be from the SEC, 22 ups in a 45 card deck can come from the SEC. If using 20 upgrades in a 30 card deck, 15 max would be from SEC, meaning the remaining 5 upgrades would cost relics.

Select up to 3 cards for sideboard from vault and state them in EC topic in secret section.
G1 must be played with the original deck as it is in the gdoc.
Games 2-5 may use up to 3 of the pre-selected sideboard cards.
The sideboard cards must be from vault.
If used in any game the sideboard cards must be discarded after the match (regardless of win/loss). The sideboard discards do not count towards your 9 cards from vault if the match was lost.
The sideboard cards must be unupgraded, and cannot be pillars/pendulums/mark cards.

that is a clear, but i feel it is not the fairest interpretation of the card, you can only move upgrades 1 direction on general matchups, either get rid of general for this round and have general as a soilder or increase cap on general to 2/3 of deck

With this SEC, Gens and Lts typically exist to help the lower-uprade roles

All the seedings should properly be fixed now, and should follow the ruling about facing different teams in the previous rounds during the first 6 rounds.

So the sideboard 3 cards from ec are for all decks this round? whatif we use them in more games than we have copies of them? or can they only be used on one match each?

Sideboard 3 cards off of your deck. If you don't need it, don't put it in your deck. If you do use one or more sideboard card, you may use them multiple times per match. If you repeat a card, you can include multiple of that card.

Sideboard: shockwave, reverse time, freeze

G1: none
G2: shockwave - you may choose to use it once and remove it, or add it to your deck.
G3: RT, freeze - you swap to the other two, but you still used shockwave G2, so all three are discarded

Sideboard: mirror shield, mirror shield, mirror shield

G1: none
G2: mirror - if you only use one copy this match, you only need to discard one copy.
G3: mirror, mirror, mirror - You use all three at once, so all three are discarded.

Sideboard: left sock, 3.5 days, optimized stall

G1: none
G2: none
G3: none - if you use none, you discard none as well

Sideboard: shockwave, reverse time, freeze

G1: none
G2: Shockwave
G3: Shockwave - You use a single card, so you discard SW only.

Sorta; sideboard role extra cards are mandatory to use in the first game and these sideboard cards are part of the deckcode you put into vault. Also you can field a 30 card sideboard to run the 3 EC cards in a 30 card deck, with 3 other unimportant cards removed. EC cards can only be added in games 2-5.

Edit: apparently you cant do the latter. looks like its mandatory to run 33 cards in sideboard role now. Normally there wouldnt be a reason not to, but here that rulechange matters.

Just a reminder not to forget about the Round 5 EC for salvaging cards from your own deck if you used less upgrades than your role originally had before relics.

These are the following players/decks that can salvage from their own deck if they choose.

Please remember that you can only salvage a total of 6 (or 7 if you won 3-0) cards for that match this round. The cards salvaged from your own deck are part of that total salvage value.


Please remember to post in your section's Event Card topic if you will be salvaging from your own deck, and to try and minimize the Warning errors on the gdocs you can enter your salvage from own deck into the bonuses spot (Cell D18).

:entropy is facing :aether for the forth time as well. We played them round 2,3 and 4. Seems unfair to scramble when earth points this out and not now. Our aether game should on the least be moved randomly.

Just to make it 100% clear, by "discarded", do you mean we are going to lose the card from our vault like normal discards?

@arth: After the match, the used sideboard cards are discarded like penalties, regardless of the outcome. Winning 3-0 without using the EC on a non-salvage deck gives 7 salvage. Using the EC grants 7 salvage but penalizes you for those used cards. Using none means no penalty. This penalty is separate from your standard discards if you lose the match.

@www3: The sideboard cards are added, not swapped.

I'd like to hear your opinion if it happens with :aether facing :air 4 times in 6 rounds. Btw it was maybe uncommon
when teams had to play 5-6 matches / round, but now it's only 4 / round, the situation is entirely different.

I would maybe moan about the matchup but not ask for a reshuffle. I’d just endlessly curse my luck and rng.

yes i start preparing the round now, so in 5 hours everything get reshuffled so tommorow i can start again from zero

I totally understand and accept your viewpoint guys, I would be pissed, too in your position if a sudden change
would come now, at the same time it is frustrating that :earth states their problem about playing 4 times against :air
and voilà!, change, meanwhile :entropy had*/has the same problem vs. :aether and things stay the same.
This sucks. Maybe it is not an issue for you since you are veterans and/or sacrifice less of your LIFE to get on with this
War, but that's not the case for me.


* Yes even in the 1st version we had to play with :aether again.

Can we reshuffle vaults? I quite like times 400 card vault, airs sofree packed vault, and dark’s sopa not op just strong vault. Soz light, we don’t need your vault, we’ve beaten you enough already to salvage your cards a lot.
