I know WMs made it optional, but flavour-wise I think it should really be mandatory.

The lore is fine. Not answering questions on an exam is a perfectly valid strategy if getting the wrong answer causes negative points.

On the SATs, from what i remember, you'd get a full point for one correct answer, minus .25 points on an incorrect, and 0 if you skip. Could have changed since then, cause i know that they took out the essay portion.
