still a bit unclear on how the discards will work, for example; you have 6NT in vault and SEC allows 2 NT per deck for free, team water plays a deck that is 6 NT and 24 pillars and it loses. do they discard 4 NT that they own and then 26 vault discards or do they get forced into discarding all 6 copies they have even tho 2 were not used in the deck?

From chat, it's assumed that cards in deck are from the SEC unless specified elsewhere. You can opt in to having the SEC cards come from vault instead of SEC (with a post in the secret section) though. This must be done before deckbuilding phase ends though, I'm pretty sure

The example makes EC even more confusing. Maybe a better example with detailed pick(s) a team (has to) make and the result of it?

I'm not sure if dawn's example helped, but if not I'll attempt another one here:
Spoiler for Example:
Teams choose these:
aether: +1 and w3
darkness: +1 and torb
earth: -1 and player 4
entropy: -1 and wyand
light: -1 player 4
time: -1 kaempfer

the Sum of all 6 teams value choices is: +1+1-1-1-1-1=-2


If w3 wins he will salvage 2 less cards than normal (4 instead of 6). If he loses he will discard 2 less cards than normal (22 instead of 24).
This -2 change applies for all 6 listed players.
Hopefully that clarifies it better. but if not, I can try again.
Clear enough. Initial thought was: how does modifier exceed 1 if you only apply it to a single player from your own team.



So... what was the prize?

:darkness had a win rate of 4-3 with their 7 SEC decks.

Since we still have a tie for win rates, we will split the winnings  in half for these 2 teams. Both time and earth will receive 3 free salvage.
Why are we randomly excluded from a deckbuilding bonus when there apparently does not need to be an additional tiebreaker between time and earth? SEC description only mentioned relics gained being a factor.

Keep breaking ties for random reasons or break no ties at all, no? I don't get this one...

I gotta agree (at least sort of). The way i understood it, it should have been number of decks that counted for relics (in which case it would have been all ours). had i known surplus decks obeying the rules would count for the final evaluation I would have used an extra relic on the 2 relic deck. Im sure though that many will feel similiarly about the sorta unexpectedly high reward in the end though (and would have done more for it too).

We are getting enough help from ECs this round however, if the surplus decks count (which i kinda like given that it is an additional restriction, should have been announced though), then I think darkness should get its 2 free salvage (and earth and us 1 less).

I'm gonna use every legal advantage to try and win, but I gotta point out when things are unfair and unannounced arbitrary tiebreakers (which dont even follow all the way through) belong into that category imo.

If two limit meant two limit, I can agree with all 6 for time, too. If two limit meant two per rule, I can understand the wms point count, but I don't think this was made very clear.

I assumed it was 2 limit, and was really confused why teams were getting 4 points. After rereading the SEC for 5 minutes I finally understood how it could be implied to be 2 per rule. And I now believe that was the intended purpose

I will talk with math about how relics are distributed, but to the rules, this team would be given 3 relics for participating.

do points awarded = relics rewarded or are points not caped at 2 per rule?

still a bit unclear on how the discards will work, for example; you have 6NT in vault and SEC allows 2 NT per deck for free, team water plays a deck that is 6 NT and 24 pillars and it loses. do they discard 4 NT that they own and then 26 vault discards or do they get forced into discarding all 6 copies they have even tho 2 were not used in the deck?



More confusing still. If water fields 4 NT in 2 decks, one wins and the other loses, how should they proceed?
