WAR #11 Round 2
12 armies arrive at the glorious battlefield, each with their weapons drawn and their shields up ready for a battle. Each army is led by a daring General and a multitude of loyal troops, each ready to lay their life on the line for what they fight for. 12 armies will enter the battlefield, but only 1 will leave at the end.
Deckbuilding
Duel phase has started
Teams have to build decks for all players who are fighting during this round. All team members participate in the planning. Please do not post your decks in public or talk about them in chat.

All decks must be made ready before the timer goes to zero, after which, editing decks is strictly forbidden. Failure to have all of the decks ready will lead to a severe card penalty and/or automatic losses. It is highly recommended that all team members double-check their decks before the duels start.

Fighting ends!
Duel phase starts when deckbuilding ends.

PM your opponent and try to find a suitable time. Time Zone Converter might be useful here. If you cannot find a time when you both are online, please contact Warmasters--Zawadx and Jenkar--immediately. If the match does not happen, you both lose by default unless one of you is clearly more active and flexible.

Duels are "best-of-five", you must use the deck and mark built during the previous phase, and you cannot make any changes to your deck or mark during the round.

Super Event Card


Within the first 24 hours of the round, a team may declare up to two cards which they wish to ban. Their opponents won't be able to use these cards against them this round.
Declare cards in a thread in your secret section, titled "R1-3 Super EC".
You may ban a card only once over the course of the three rounds for which the event card stands.
You may not ban two cards of the same element in one round.

Event Card



"Will you embark on a grand quest to discover a relic to turn the tide of war? Or perhaps switch to the other side of the Law to steal from the enemy?"

The added boosts are:
Pioneer: If you win, gain 3 relics.
Buccaneer: If you win, increase Salvage by 5 for yourself and decrease Discard (from deck) by 5 for your opponent.

These are simply additional boosts you may choose to use, like discard and sideboard. They will be added to the vault tool. You may choose to use both, one, or none at all.

Since the current time isn't the best for me to check vaults and be around, how do you guys feel about shifting the deadline ahead by 12 hours (or behind by 12 hours)? Poll added.

Is buccaneer just vastly superior to both discard and salvage or was it meant to reduce the opponents discard instead?

The thing is... There are no discards for the winner... So? Is it less discards for the opponent and more salvage for the winner?

I believe the intend was;
"You choose between pioneer or buccaneer and post it on your secret section. So, only one of the options apply for you. If you choose buccaneer and win you get extra 5 cards. If you choose buccaneer and lose you discard 5 less cards."

Edit: If both of the options apply then it would be more clear to say:

"If you win, gain 3 relics and salvage 5 more cards. If you lose, discard 5 less cards"

It says "add two boosts", so I'd assume it's just like the other boosts. (i.e. you can use both)

Hmm, thought you add Pioneer and Buccaneer to the boost list for this round. So you can choose one of them instead of Upgrades or Tinkerer or... and obviously just one as readable in the flavour-text.  8-)
And for Buccaneer i guess you salvage 11 cards but the looser has to discard just 7 cards...
